Do you think they will bring back collab villagers?

I don't know... I think, outside the Sanrio characters (Keroppi is the one I would go after), the only thing I could think of would be either Pokemon or Yokai Watch. Maybe Hamtaro but I don't think it's still relevant...

While the Sanrio characters would blend in nicely, I personally don't want any "Intruders" in my game.

I think they're going to wait for promotional tie-ins like the 7/11 event in NL and in Pocket Camp when they brought in Splatoon during a Splatoon even (I don't recall which one, maybe it was the final Splatfest?) From a business point of view it makes sense to both parties for them to do it during a promotion. The company gets to promote to a huge fanbase for an event of theirs and get a piece of the pie with sales of Amiibo cards, presumably. Animal Crossing/Nintendo keeps players interested (and locked in for that Nintendo online subscription) and get profit from the company who pays for the sponsorship and also sales of Amiibo cards/Amiibos. It's a win-win.

I never played any other AC games, are you saying that there was a time where villagers that lives in your town can be made up of other IP? WHATTTTT?

it wouldnt surprise me at all if they not only did but add new villagers later on, or even paid dlc villagers cause yknow its nintendo
