I kinda have mixed feelings on this. Some spend 65m for a dreamie, and I wanted to know if you guys feel like it pays off in the end. At least you have your dreamie, but they're just a character you've spent a fortune on. I want to know your opinions! ^_^
I'd rather trade when I have someone's dreamie and they have mine. Other than that, I like going through and experiencing different villagers. I received Punchy as a giveaway and he's really growing on me. Rosie and Bruce I got from the campsite and I adore them both. Julian just recently moved in as a 9th villager and I'm enjoying him in my town as well. They're not my dreamies, but I like having the opportunity to have them as villagers, and if I enjoy having these guys in my town... I can't imagine how wonderful it will be with a town full of my favorites.
Well I paid 10m bells for Erik... It was harsh and definitely the highest price I am willing to pay for a dreamie. I bought Kabuki for 5m and the rest I got for free. On the one hand I think that prices for dream villagers really are rediculously high and it's pretty unfair towards the not so wealthy players who have e.g. Julian or Marshal as their dreamies. On the other hand I thought to myself "Okay what exactly would I've spent 10m bells for if not for my dream villager?" Some PWP's are expensve, yeah, but in relation to dreamie prices VERY VERY cheap. Items and clothes are cheap as well and with a few days of catching bugs on the island you can even efford a furniture series from Gracies. What I'm trying to say is you don't really need that much money ingame so I think it's ok to spend it on dream villagers. To me they are the main attraction of the game anyway. I remember how happy I was when I adopted Beau from another town ~died of happiness~
So far, I've never paid for any of my dream villagers. I either got them for free or I traded a villager I already had. I personally wouldn't want to pay for one because I don't see it as something I need right away. I can wait until I find someone willing to give me a villager for free.
Luckily, the majority of my dreamies have moved in naturally, or I've been lucky enough to be given them I think I'd rather wait and see if I can get them for free than pay millions of bells, considering I don't actually have *that* many bells and a lot of villagers go for loads! Each to their own though, I guess some people don't mind paying but I'd rather not, aha
I wouldn't personally spend more than a few mil, but that's only because I don't have a ton of bells, if I had more, then why not, gotta spend your fake money on something. You know what they say, something's only worth as much as someone's willing to pay for it.
I would not pay a cent for a dreamie. I prefer just letting things happen by letting the game give me things villagers randomly because everything is transient (that or take advantage of those awesome cycling threads that are free). Eventually the game will cycle and I'll get that dreamie and it'll be so much more worth the wait. Heck, I might even find a newer, better villager that will become my new dreamie if I gave them a chance to cycle in my town.
I would maybe pay a very small amount (1 million max, and then only for a dreamie I really want, like Tangy) but not anything beyond that. It's not worth it to me. Especially with all of the cycling threads where you can snag dreamies for free if you're patient. Goldie was my #1 dreamie and I managed to get her from a cycling thread, free, a few days ago. And I know I personally, on my own cycling thread, gave away villagers who can sell for crazy amounts-- Julian, Punchy, Diana, Octavian-- for free. So when it's very possible to get them for free, I just couldn't justify paying much at all, if anything.
No. I give my movers away with a big smile. I'm hoping for the same in return. I do not time travel. I'm always very gracious when I'm offered a villager I like or want. It's always a pleasure to receive and give.
