I received all my dreamies for free so far, but I wouldn't be against paying bells for them if I had to.
I play daily, so people know they aren't going nowhere when they come to my town!
They're all well taken care of; whatever that means when referring to a virtual character! lol

Depends on the price, and if finding them for free is going to be easy, or insanely difficult.

Most of my dreamies came to me on their own, and the others - sans Wolfgang and presumably Bob - were given to me for free. Wolfgang I bought because I was tired after months of searching in NL (added to the years I spent trying to get him back after losing him in WW), and Bob I will probably end up buying as well, simply because he's so popular, and probably won't be given away for free too often.

yeah the most i've ever paid for my dreamies were 5 mil. and that was fang and beau. everyone else was from a trade or free. it all depends on the buyer really xp honestly for me i wouldn't be happy buying a villager for 65mil. that's over excessive.

I do like my dream villagers, but I luckily haven't had to pay for any of the ones I've acquired. I don't think I'd want to pay a large amount for any of mine left. My original five villagers consisted of two I am keeping (Fang and Whitney), I received two of my dream villagers for free (Mathilda and Deirdre), and I have yet to get the rest of my dream villagers. However, I'll be getting Daisy *hopefully* in the next day or two, so that should be very exciting! She'll also be my halfway point in getting all of my dream villagers.

I've only paid a few million for Beau and Flora. My other dreamies have been free. I'm not really willing to go completely crazy and pay through the nose for a dreamy. That mindset is starting to make Marshal a little less desirable though because I know that in order to obtain him, I'll likely have to slaughter my bank.

Pro tip for finding dreamies: Follow auctions even after you lose. Once I lost an auction for Kid Cat, and the person who won needed to make room in their town. Who were they pushing out? Felicity. I asked about buying her and they were so impatient they let me have her for free.

Nah... I find trading money for villagers to be a little cray-cray~ I just let my villagers move in and loved them! *^*

I haven't bought any of my dreamies, i either traded one of my villagers for my dreamie or cycled through my 2nd game for them. Fortunately the villager trading section of this site has a lot of people who do giveaways and cycling so there are other options for people to get their dreamies without paying for them.

I've done it with both Felicity and Diana, but only because they were quite reasonably priced (imo) and I was super desperate for them haha. So far everyone else I've received on my own by way of resetting/the campsite or giveaways. I obviously don't mind paying bells for a villager--I've had my town for a month now and haven't been able to properly play because I want to get all my dreamies first, so if dropping money for them speeds up the process I'm all for it as long as it's not 20m+.

While I have not payed for any of my dreamies (due to kind people and the campsite) and much prefer trading villager for villager, I wouldn't mind paying for one, provided they are reasonably priced.

So cool to see your guys' answers. The most I'd ever pay is 10m, and that's only if I'm DESPERATE. I've been stalking cycling threads that give away villagers, so hopefully I can get someone for free since so many of you have. ^_^
