I'll still have my 3DS on streetpass mode while I'm out and about quite often, and although once in a blue moon I'll get a few streetpasses it's been at least a year since I've found someone playing ACNL. Is this everyone else's experience as well? It makes me sad that I missed the period where the game was most popular and most people who used to play don't anymore, especially with the switch game coming out
I don't ever get any. I used to live in a tiny town, so I never got any then, even when New Leaf was new. I have since moved to a bigger city, but now no one plays anymore
My local Homedepot had a swappoint so sometimes I would then, but that's been a year plus, the last streetpasses I got were in a international airport.
Never. The last one I got was in a Mexican airport 3 years ago. I kind of miss when everyone and their mom carried their 3ds around. I remember during comic con one year I got like a million.
I still get some Streetpasses, though not as many as I used to. In my old town, which I started when the game first came out, I almost got a full Happy Home Showcase. I probably won't get anywhere close to that in my new town, but I still get a few on occasion.
Thats a good question, I don't know. I recently started playing acnl again and so far I have not. I remember if I brought my 3DS to the airport with me in the past, I would get so many. Other than that, I just get street passes from my sister's town if we play together.
Nowadays, I barely get streetpasses at all. I remember back when I was in highschool, I would get 10 streetpasses almost everyday, some who played ACNL.
I used to get tons of them everyday back in 2013/2014 when I was in college and walked literally everywhere. Those were the golden days.
Now I’m lucky if I get a single streetpass, even if I go to a big city.

Other than that, I never came close to filling the showcase. The most I ever had was on my demolished town, and I don't think I had enough to even fill one showcase. Almost, but not quite. Now when I do Streetpass, it's from my other system. And I normally don't have them on at the same time. There was actually a tune where I turned OFF streetpass because I didn't want to transfer unwanted moved out villagers. Ever since the Phoebe incident I have since then turned stretapss back on for both systems, but I still don't have 2 of them playing at the same time.
Since the time I started my second copy of NL last year, I haven't gotten any Streetpasses for it. I rarely even get Streetpasses in general these days.
I streetpass all the time with my other half, since we store our 3DS's next to each other So I get two a day!
I also streetpassed once on the train (or in the station), I was so surprised!
Other than that, I streetpassed a bunch of other player's at a local convention that is all about gaming and pop culture, I think those are the best opportunities if you're looking to find people who are likely to have their 3DS's with them!
So I get two a day!
