I do yeah. I don't like guessing when a tool might break and using the custom kits. I always carry stacks of sticks, the 3 types of wood, rocks and iron on me. Just a habit and each time I do dailies, the stack replenishes.
Sometimes for funsies, I will buy the nets and fishing rods because I like how they look but not always. It's so much easier to craft a new tool imo. I have craft stations placed in prime spots on my island.
I completely forgot that you could buy tools lol. I used to keep branches, stones and iron in my pockets so I could craft a tool if it broke. Now I think I'm just gonna buy a few from Nook's Cranny since I'm running out of iron (been using a lot to make hanging terrariums as gifts to villagers)!
At the beginning yes... as you get further into the game and unlock more DIYs you'll realize you need nuggets more than the 2500 bells from Nook Cranny.
It depends, I really like the star net. I bought a bunch and have them in my storage for when one breaks. If I’m doing a lot of fishing I will usually craft the fishing rod. I almost always craft water cans. I usually Almost always buy the Axe. I never bought the slingshot DIY so I just buy one.
I try to at least. It's really hard not to buy tools from nooks, but I know I need to get rid of the stacks of sticks and iron that are taking up my precious storage space.
I only do when I'm villager hunting and I come across money rock island when my shovel breaks. Other times would be if I'm farming regular wood while island hopping as well and I need a new stone axe. Generally I never craft them otherwise.
NOPE buying tools is so much faster - and they look better too. If we could craft the tools that are sold in the shops, then I'd maybe still be crafting.
I’m going to start paying for tools. However if bells become more important to me I’ll just go back to crafting them, but I doubt that will happen. After all, the only thing I really need to do to make some bells is time travel to a Sunday morning, empty my pockets, and buy as much turnips as I can, then use turnip exchange to get some turnips, then profit
I always just buy them, I dont want to spend my materials making tools constantly and I like the looks of the tools in Nooks cranny a lot better than the basic ones, but the basic ones have their charm but I got tons of bells that I do not need to worry about how I spend them because it's pretty easy to just buy turnips for around 100 each and go to an island for like 500+ each and make tons of profit.
