i recently bought a couple of sanrio hats for my cats to wear and they absolutely hate them! they actually don't really like wearing anything including collars (they're strictly indoor cats and wear a harness if they're playing out in the back yard though) i've bought them seasonal socks, sweaters and hats in the past too but they always look so done with me when i put them on them LOL does anyone else put their pets in clothes? i'm not entirely sure if it's true but i feel like dogs are more willing to put up with wearing cute little costumes 🤔

this is more about me wanting to see cute pets in cute little fits so feel free to share pictures! 😊 i'll try and see if i can snap a decent pic of my cats in their little sanrio hats too!

I put handkerchiefs on my dogs sometimes. I don't do it all the time, and when I do it I try to associate it with it being a positive and special good thing. Like super positive language and tone and sometimes treats. They usually keep them on the whole day.
My smallest dog, I will put sweaters on him in the winter because he struggles with being cold easy (shivers). Sometimes he is ok with it and other times he hates it. My others get sweaters/coats too if it is ridiculously cold out and is effecting the house temperature, especially if I am letting them outside.
I have some other things too like some little hats and things I found for 10 cents after halloween. I have used them for pictures in the past but other than for pictures, I don't make them wear them and they don't tolerate them for more than 5 minutes.

Sometimes, I used to do it more often but I still do occasionally. One of my cats doesn't like it, but the other one doesn't seem to mind. My dog gets excited to put things on, but I can't leave sweaters and stuff on her for too long because it makes her itchy. She doesn't mind bandanas though, and she looks very cute in them.

Not really. We've put bandanas on our dog (she doesn't seem to mind!), but that's about it. Regarding hats and sweaters and whatnot, I don't think our pets would enjoy wearing those.

I want to live, so no, I don't put my older cat in outfits. 😅

I have an old grumpy torbie, adopted in 2005. She was feral-ish when we got her, but became a lap cat fairly quickly. On her terms, though, lol. And she is easily irritated. I can't imagine trying to dress her up.

Mr Peaches, on the other hand, is super cuddly, so he'd probably let me. He likes belly pets and doesn't get bothered by much. Maybe it's time to get him an outfit.

I've never tried it myself. Sometimes my mom puts things like hair scrunchies (or whatever they're called) around the necks of our cats and I usually end up being the one removing them. I swear one of the cats looked happier when I took it off.

I'd love to but I fear Bonk would actually kill me if I even tried, so I don't. Bonk doesn't freak out or become distressed if she's dressed up (speaking from her groomer's experiences with her), but I know she doesn't like it, so I don't do it. It's not worth it to potentially upset my cat or break her trust just for a few minutes of entertainment or cute pictures. This isn't shade towards anyone who does dress up their pets! I am very envious of you all and love seeing fur babies dressed up!

However, Bonk's groomer takes a silly picture of her after every session and will occasionally put an accessory on her for holidays or special occasions, so that's the closest to "dressed up" Bonk gets. The latest was from her birthday session last month, where she got to sport a tiara and a tuxedo!

bonus Christmas pic 😭 I swear she wasn't as unhappy as she looked asdfghjk, but as you can see, Bonky prefers to be naked 😪

I'd love if my cat let me, but I know that if I even tried to dress her up she would run under the bed and refuse to come out for a few days :') Just getting her to accept a collar was a damn nightmare!

I do! I only put them on for a few seconds before I take them off.

The kitties on the left are my late kitties; I miss them still so much. I also had a black cat (she was my sister’s cat but I think of her as mine too because she lived half her life with me and my parents before she took her with her); she passed away shortly before my grey tabby did. I still miss her so much too.

The two kitties I have now are on the right. Top right picture is Jewels when she was still a baby; in September or October, she and Spanky are turning three!

The most I would put on the dogs would be a bandana at Christmas.

Cats normally don't like to have stuff on them. They'll roll over and just stay there like a noodle-armed kid that's not getting their way lol. My cat Penny loves going outside, but she is so small and skinny that she shivers when it's too cold. But dang it, I want to be outside! So I made this for her and she doesn't mind it. I think because it feels so cozy and keeps her warm.

I don't put either of my dogs in outfits, mostly because my golden weighs 90 lbs and it's hard to find clothes that fit him, and my bernedoodle is only a year old and she already weighs 70 lbs 😂 give me a cute dress to fit a 70 lb dog and we're set haha. that being said though, I do sometimes put a little bandana on them so they look cute hehe 💕

and I definitely don't put any clothes on my cats, they'd freak out lol. they do all wear collars with bells though!

Not really. My Saint Bernard is too big lol

No, but I’ve also never tried. I doubt my shibe would let me anyways, he’d probably look at me like I was crazy lol. he does have a harness though, that’s probably as much “outfit” as he will let me dress him with.

Guinea pigs typically hate being dressed in anything so no I haven’t tried. I don’t want to stress them out.
