Near where I live there is this guy who puts up a crazy amount of christmas lights. You would not believe it. Everyone knows about him and his house is a tourist spot. There was so much traffic that a couple years ago they had to make his street 1 way to direct the traffic! I don't have personal pictures but I looked to see if there were any online and I found some!

I put the lights up two weeks before Thanksgiving while the weather is still mild so that we have time to test them before turning them on for the first time Thanksgiving night.

I do put up some outdoor lights on the pillars on my front porch. But that's about it. I think it looks very classy and simple the way I do it.

And I love walking through neighborhoods that are all lit up! It's always so gorgeous!

Too much of a hassle. I'll be pissed if my neighbors put some up though, because my bed is near the window, directly across from the front of their house. |:

We live in an apartment and are not allowed to decorate the outside of the building. We never have decorations for any holiday. But when Christmas comes around that changes, we get lights on all the trees in front of our building, and we have a lot! So I don't put up lights but my land lady does.
