Handheld because I can't hide it from my family on the console

Prefer it on the WiiU because of my eyesight. It would be nice if it was on both systems. Play on the 3DS while out and than switch to the WiiU later at night. I stopped taking my 3DS with me. I was just getting a streetpass from my other 3DS.

AC should literally only be for handhelds
consoles are garbage (the wiiu is garbage)
i honestly dont care that it started on a console. its evolved in such a fashion that its not console-friendly anymore. you need to take time out of your day to play it every day or god forbid the rng nintendo gods smite ur ****ty ass for not playing
down with console versions for all of eternity (of AC at least)
i s2g if i see one for the wiiu nintendo is getting stormed and gutted

Amen.

Handheld is the best for ac.

Home console. Because I prefer the Wii U over the 3DS

But the games themselves. The handheld games.

Systems in general Home console! (As long as it is a Nintendo one, All the Xbox systems and Playstation systems SUCK!) Wii U is best!

Wow. Differing tastes are one thing but saying everything non-Nintendo related "garbage" is going overboard. I've enjoyed many consoles from both Sony and Nintendo, each with their own hits and misses, while the Xbox has been plenty popular enough that it's rather unfair to call it garbage. Not to mention Sony and MS can lord their consoles' respective specs and current libraries over the Wii U's head. You hardly have room to call it the best with anything more than "I like Nintendo games better". Each company has it's ups and downs. Talk about fangirl gushing.

I'm split between console versions and handhelds. Console had the original game which even with the addition of New Leaf still holds a few superior qualities (more events, better dialogue options, larger town structures) and City Folk (which I played a ton of). On the other hand, handhelds hold New Leaf which has added some of the best features in the series to date and is portable. I can't say I prefer one over the other at this point, considering both types of platform have had titles with advantages over the other.

Hand held, personally. I have three siblings who I share the systems with but my handhelds I get some privacy with as well as as much time as I need and want. v u v idk, I grew up on handhelds so I might be a bit biased.

I'd like them to concentrate on the consoles, mainly. They have much more potential there, graphics-wise and feature-wise. The wi-fi system worked in City Folk, so it will work again. Besides, the Gamecube version didn't even need internet to transfer items to people (Universal Codes.) All this nonsense about not being able to connect with other players is very untrue.

Well I guess it depends in how you look at it. I am a die hard AC player. I started on game cube. I played for 2 years straight on GameCube and loved it. When I found out about ww, I literally went and got a pink Nintendo d's so I could get ww. I played ww for about a year but had to take a break when I moved and got married. I did however pick it back up and the kids started playing as well. Then it came out for the wii. My son got the wii for Christmas do I got city folk. I honestly never got into it. But oh then came new leaf. I average playing at least 6 hours a day since pretty much day one. I LOVED the game cube version. However, I was a single mom at the time, so I could play it a lot as my oldest was a toddler. I know I wouldn't be able to do that now. I prefer the handheld now that I'm remarried with lots of kids cuz I can take my portable world with me to dr.s appts (cuz they have theirs too) and on 5-10 hour car trips, well when I'm not the driver and I can play it in the same room while my hubby plays on the ps3. I guess I'll always have a soft spot for the original but, I think the handheld makes it much easier.

Definitely Handheld. I love having my town inside my pockets instead on a stationary console.
I have never played the GameCube version, but a reason why I stopped playing City Folk after a few months was because you can't carry your town around.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing on video game consoles but AC isn't a game that should be on these consoles.
But I think an AC game on the WiiU would be great if you could switch playing on your town between the TV and the Gamepad.

Handheld. Even though I enjoyed City Folk, a game like Animal Crossing shouldn't be tied down to a home console.

This is my first handheld AC game! I played on the Gamecube and Wii extensively so I was nervous about playing New Leaf because it was such a small screen and I had never been super into handheld games (I had a DS for a bit, but only played Zelda games really).

Honestly I love the handheld! It is so convenient and the format isn't losing anything by being handheld rather than console IMO. Still I will accept another console AC game with open arms.

Because City Folk is on the wii I haven't played it that much. I don't play ww anymore and it's been years since I've used the wii.
It's easier to sit down ANYWHERE on the 3ds than having to set up the wii (if my brother isn't on the playstation or x box) I've never played the game cube version (I was too young to have a gamecube when it came out, I would have been 3 or 4)

I prefer New Leaf anyway as I like the PWP and the graphics are better

:( They sort of did it with Pokemon on the N64/Pokemon Stadium... And I was hoping now that they'd done it with MH3U maybe they'd do it for something else :( That's such a big deal for me! I just adore that feature!

But yeah, Nintendo definitely hasn't learned the subtle art of throwing money at it's franchises that other companies have learned
The connectivity with console games has always been a thing for the Pokemon games, but the main games are always handheld. Not to mention that the connectivity was relatively small, as most you could do was just transfer Pokemon so you could battle. Not even in Colosseum/XD could you use the Pokemon from the handheld in the actual story mode.

As for MH3U, that was all Capcom. Nintendo doesn't own Monster Hunter.

Handheld, without doubts. I can usually play with this type of consoles wherever I go.

I played Wild World for a laaaaaaaarge amount of time, and later, my friends gave me City Folk as a gift. I spent less than a month with it, because it was uncomfortable for me (and also, I depended on the TV, who wasn't always avaliable because someone else of my family could be watching it).

Handheld is better but I prefer console. Only downfall with consoles as the gamecube is that it doesn't have the pickup and play ability that the handheld has.

Handheld is more convenient I think. I like being able to sit wherever I want and be able to play comfortable.
I would like to experience playing AC on a console one day. More potential really..
