Do you prefer to play Animal Crossing on a handheld or home console?

How do you prefer to play AC?

I like consoles and handheld. The only think I hated about the animal crossing on the wii was being limited to 1 town per system. I hope that it wont be like that if they bring it out on the wii u.

I agree. If an AC comes out for WiiU I'll probably get it because I'm just an avid fan of the series and thoroughly enjoy it, but I'll probably be sticking to NL for quite some time until the next handheld AC comes out. (which probably won't be for a long, long time)

Handheld. Given the fact that I spend a lot my time playing New Leaf around the house often at fairly short intervals, being confined to a home console would make it incredibly inconvenient and my playtime would probably be lucky to be at a 10th of what it actually is at the moment. That said, I haven't tried playing it on a console, in fact I haven't owned a Nintendo console at all since the Gamecube, and I tried the Wii once and wasn't impressed.

If it was on PC then maybe, although I think I'd probably have to switch to my Xbox controller since I don't imagine it'd work well with mouse+keyboard.

I usually prefer to play games on console instead of handheld, but Animal Crossing is one of this few games I prefer it to be on a handheld. I love to just play where and when I want, while watching TV, lying down or something else... it is so much easier, especially if I just want to look in it a few minutes and such.

I want them to do a version that plays both so badly! Like what MH3U did. That way you have the option of both!

HAHAHAHAHAHAH NINTENDO SPENDING MONEY ON/CARING ABOUT ANYTHING BUT SSB
/wheezes
thats a good joke
-pats- yeah, wed like to hope but lets face it nintendo hates us all far too much

I like to play it way more on a handheld, so I can bring it and play whenever I'm not at home, I barely played city folk because I didn't like playing it on the wii XD

Why are you typing in the center.
I don't mind really about the handheld or home console thing though.

TL;DR: Console, because I rarely play AC outside the house, anyway, and they'd probably be able to fit more content on it.

For me, it depends on which console, or which handheld, and the quality of the games. If both games were of identical quality, then definitely handheld. But that's most likely not going to be the case - I'd wager there being better graphics and more content on the console versions. Of the same generation, of course - Wii vs 3DS isn't a very fair comparison; Wii U vs 3DS is a slightly better matchup (both 8th gen). So yeah, console.

:( They sort of did it with Pokemon on the N64/Pokemon Stadium... And I was hoping now that they'd done it with MH3U maybe they'd do it for something else :( That's such a big deal for me! I just adore that feature!

But yeah, Nintendo definitely hasn't learned the subtle art of throwing money at it's franchises that other companies have learned

Definitely handheld! My parents used to get so annoyed whenever I played City Folk on the wii so I barely got anything done on that game D:

Handheld for sure.

The only stationary console I can play for hours on end is PC if it counts. Games like arkham/ff/shooters/fighters are fine on other consoles but I don't think I can focus with something like acnl haha.

Handheld all the way.

If i need to use the bathroom, BRING IT WITH ME!
If i'm traveling by car, plane, train, whatever, BRING IT WITH ME!
Staying up all night, BRING IT WITH ME!
Going to a friends house, out to eat/anywhere, BRING IT WITH ME!

I like the game to be handheld so i can play it at anytime anywhere no matter what im doing
They focus so much on making the handhelds either 3D or thinner etc they really need to work on how much content it can hold and all and find a way to balance both.

And if it ever came out
For wii u i'd be severly depressed again -_-. I HATED animal crossing city folk espically since i dont like wearing my glasses nonstop and with the handheld i dont need them because i can see perfect,
And the wii u is horrible in my opinion anyway. And i just overall dont see animal crossing as a home console game.
While the wii u does have only Two good
Titles wind waker HD and the upcoming zelda, It's seriously not an animal crossing made console.

I like both, while handheld is very practical, I still have nostalgic memories of playing AC on GC. It was so much fun back then, I could wake up very early in the morning, just to be sure I have the tv for me and my game only haha :p
I think handheld format became essential since the introduction of wifi parties and is even more important now with the streetpass functions

I love both, honestly. Just give me the game and I'm good. Oh, and off-screen play. <3

I like being able to take my game to any room while talking to other people in-game. It's very convenient.
