The connectivity with console games has always been a thing for the Pokemon games, but the main games are always handheld. Not to mention that the connectivity was relatively small, as most you could do was just transfer Pokemon so you could battle. Not even in Colosseum/XD could you use the Pokemon from the handheld in the actual story mode.

As for MH3U, that was all Capcom. Nintendo doesn't own Monster Hunter.

You could put your Pokemon game into the slot on the N64 pack thing and play the actual game on the big screen. Compared to the Game Boy? That screen was HUGE and colorful and the sound was better. I pretty much played Crystal completely on Pokemon Stadium. That's less important now that the 3DS is both in color and much bigger than the Gameboy... but still amazing - just like Capcom proved with Monster Hunter. So I was hoping maybe they'd remember how amazing it was and re-implement it :)

[And after story mode you could trade your Pokemon with Collosseum and play it there... though it was more of an afterthought]

I played WW on my ds. I play NL on my 3ds. I bought City Folk, but never even put it into my Wii, because I knew I wouldn't be able to sit in the living room for hours playing. I also play off-line, away from home a lot, so playing on a home console just doesn't work for me. I would love to see my town on the big TV screen, but I wouldn't want to give up on the portability.

To me it doesn't matter much. It's animal crossing I'll play a lot no matter it is on. :D

Handheld, definitely. I like that right now, sitting at a coffee shop while waiting on car repairs, I can play. I like that in my downtime at work I can play. I love the Spotpass feature and the HH sales floor where I can see decors and buy (overpriced) items I might not have access to otherwise. I like that I can close my DS when I get distracted or bored and open it up wherever I am and pick up where I left off. I like that I'm not tied to my tv. Yup, handheld for me.

The Wii U is the very first console I have NO problems with. I LOVE the game pad, it has GREAT games (Wind Waker HD, Mario 3D World, DK Tropical Freeze) I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Yeah... such an original Wii U game
so wow.. 2 games;)

I only played the GC & 3DS version. I think this game suits handheld gameplay better (:

The only reason playing on a console would be better are graphics, and more data space (so more land, more pwp, more villagers, etc)

Definitely handheld, playing both WW and NL they are the kind of game perfect for on the go, and easy to pick up play for a little and put down. I don't think I'd play as much on a home console.

Handheld, definitely! I have played on the Wii and enjoyed it but I love being able to take my AC everywhere I go. ^^

Handheld definitely, I like to take it with me to school, trips etc. That way I can play whenever and wherever I want. I like the freedom.

Handheld. You can play Animal Crossing everywhere (in your bed, in the train, in the car, etc).

Home console is so slow. I mean, you have to turn on your TV, then you have to turn on your Wii and it's sooo slow to charge. The 3DS and DS are faster.

I'd have to go with handheld. I always bring my 3DS with me when I spend the weekend at my girlfriends place. That way I can play Animal Crossing while she's watching 'Dancing with the stars' or some other crap. :p

handheld I ****ing hate home consoles

pc & handheld masterrace

seriously tho especially with the new streetpass feature acnl has just become a handheld game, consoles are too clunky for this game, it may have started off on a gamecube but it really seems like it was made for handheld systems

if the next ac is on wiiu I prob for the first time wouldnt be getting it bc wiiu sucks ass

For Animal Crossing, handhelds.

For just a system in general. Home Console. Wii U FTW!!!

you posted a longer version of this comment on the first page was this comment really necessary

the wiiu bothers me, the second screen thing is annoying and its always poorly integrated in the games/barely used in the game at all making it a waste of money

New leaf is my first but I've played on the wii and gamecube at friend's houses before and I like hand held a lot more. Plus I love being able to play while I'm out and about and waiting for something =3

The games don't use it YET. They are still working on games.

As for the gamepad's screen....IT IS MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE WII U! I LOVE THE IDEA OF IT!

The console felt more relaxing to sit down and play, and I enjoyed the bigger screen. I wouldn't currently be able to play the console frequently, but I still like it better in ideal circumstances.

I prefer handheld. Cause then I can cart it around with me and play Animal Crossing while I wait for something when I'm not at home.
