Do you mainly buy your tools at your upgraded Nook's Cranny, or craft them still?

As much as I really like the designs of some of the tools Nook's Cranny sells, I just don't think the cost of a peacock butterfly is worth it when I can make mine out of sticks and iron, both incredibly abundant resources, for free. For the slingshot, shovel and watering can (because they require wood) I just customize them every so often so they don't break (it resets the durability counter in case you didn't know!). Since customizing kits are 600 bells each I can just reuse my old tools for roughly a fifth of the price of buying one new that you afaik can't customize. But since I don't grind for bells much, the price difference matters more to me.

I did buy one of the fishing rods for decoration at my dock once. Might use it someday just for fun. It's got a cute fishy bobber on it.

edit: whoops there was supposed to be a poll for this but it didn't show up. oh well

Now that I’m rich, I buy all my fishing reels, nets, and shovels. I make the rest. Once I get gold versions, I’ll make them. Til then, I let excess in-game discretionary income take the wheel

I tend to craft them for "everyday use" them since I still need the achievements, but when I'm doing stuff that will probably destroy a bunch of tools (*cough* flowers *cough*) I just buy them because ain't nobody got time for that. I have more bells than time to gather resources, and I'd rather use them on crafting furniture and stuff.

If I'm feeling lazy I'll buy them but I completely forgot about the nook miles thing... might have to start crafting them more often

I always buy them now because they get so tedious to craft. I don't like that it takes two steps just to craft one!

I only craft rods and nets. For the other equipment I just buy them, bells are easy to make and I’m too lazy sometimes to gather resources.

usually i buy the flimsy versions since i’m lazy, then upgrade them at the workbench nearby the cranny so i can make a bit of progresss towards the diy tool achievement~

I have enough money, but I still don't see why I would spend money if I can just gather the materials. SOmetimes I'll buy the dpecial ones if I like their design, but I don't use them.

I craft all my tools except for Flimsy Axes, and I let them all break because of the Nook Miles achievement for crafting tools. Flimsy Axes are bought because I foresee myself making a lot of Tall Lanterns and Stone Walls, and I'm stingy. Once I get that achievement, I'm not sure what I'll do.

I seriously don't understand the high requirement for the Nook Miles achievement given that you can buy tools and/or customize them to repair them. While I hate having Watering Cans and Shovels break multiple times while gardening, I also can't get excited over people asking for their durability to be upgraded because it will totally unbalance the achievements. It's basically a no-win scenario.

i haven't got all the nm from crafting them but i just buy them from nooks anyway because if i'm gonna catch bugs and fish i'm gonna do it in style lol ☆

I buy them now, although if the one I'm using breaks because I didn't customize it in time, and I don't like the design they're selling at Nook's Cranny, I just craft.

I use to buy them, but now I have so much extra hard wood from trying to harvest regular wood that I just craft them! Plus I have a bunch of branches on the ground that I am constantly picking up...

It depends... usually I just make them it sometimes if I don’t have the resources handy and I’m feeling lazy I’ll buy them.

I usually buy my shovel because I never seen to have any hard wood on hand haha. everything else I usually make!
