Do you live near your villagers?

No, my villagers are kind of clumped pretty close together behind the town hall. My house on the other hand is on a 2-tier cliff with 4 staircases and a waterfall leading up to it, and a little private beach area behind it. I mean I am the island representative and that must be a pretty high paying job, where as all the other villagers are unemployed, so...
I wanted to do something like this until I learned that you can only have 8 inclines. Now I live right next to everyone else in the residential area.

right now my house is literally jammed between vivian and a cliff hahaha. i needed to get it out of the way so i could do some terraforming. i'm not sure if i want to be off by myself or incorporate into a little residential nook w/ a villager or two.

in the past i've always isolated myself from villagers, but i like the idea of being near them so we're on equal footing. i also want to put my house on an island on a cliff soooo. knowing me i'll try everything i can think of, but that's part of the fun for me. my island will never be finished lol.

My island is pretty much the opposite of organized atm, and the villagers are spread out! But even if I eventually actually start terraforming or something, I'd still like them to be this way.

And my house is right next to Cherry's :3
In my "lore/story" we're pretty close so it fits hehe. And the Able Sisters, as well as my 2nd player's house, are all placed near as well. You guessed it, both fit the "story" as well.

I just want us all to be neighbors enjoying the island life :)

No, I usually prefer a quiet area for myself. I am on a mountain top in the SE corner of the island while my residents' houses are on the SW side :) I don't think I ever considered being a part of their neighborhood haha (guess I'm naturally reclusive), but this is a very interesting post! I like the mix of responses c:

nope! they're on the peasant level in a neighborhood and my rep's palace is above them, surrounded by waterfalls.
ok the tone is in jest but the facts are true.

I plan on scattering my villagers around the island. So I would be living near two villagers or one. I like feeling like I'm involved in the community. Feel as though I'm like them.

I live by Lobo cause he's my big fav, but everyone else lives in neighborhoods on the lower level

I had planned for my house to be on top of the cliffs at first, but when I started designing my neighbourhood I decided to move my house back down and closer to my villagers. :) The neighbourhood is spilt on two different sides, 4 on one side and 6 on the other alongside my house. I also have other houses but they are being used as buildings such as an inn and a memorial house for my sister. :)

Yes, I live near a couple a villagers and also near the plaza, partially for convenience and partially because I like when villagers come hang out in my front yard.

I divided the villagers into sections and we live between them. I’m still missing two villagers that are gonna be near my home. They have tiny communities and i find it extremely adorable.

Nope. I used to at the very beginning of the game until I moved all the way to the back of my island. Now my house is at the beach.

I didn't want my house to seem like a mansion far off, I wanted to be just like my villagers! My house is just a casual house in the neighborhood c:

I live nearby Dizzy in a fancier area of town a bit further away from the rest of the villagers. I didn't originally intend it to be that way but after fixing up my museum area and having a road leading directly from the museum to me and Dizzy's location, it just turned out to look fancier than the other areas. I live in the very back in a foresty area on the highest tier whereas most of the villagers live on the ground tier near the town hall.

I have two neighborhoods for the villagers that are both suburban. I live in a modest house (not more than a small front yard) in the downtown area right next to the shops and civic architecture (real estate is pricier in that area I guess.) My main goal was to be close to the things I interact with the most, and it's thus far suited me, though I am definitely thinking about going for something a bit more ostentatious at some point when I retire a bellionaire.

Yea, I have my villagers' houses in two vertical rows, and mine is at one of the top corners. It's a little bit away, but still close enough that it's in the same neighborhood area.

I used to live far away from my villagers, I even put my house on a plateau they couldn't reach because they had no ladder. I've moved my house since then tho, I now have only villagers I really like and it's cool to be Fang's neighbor. And I really was getting tired of running back to my house all across the island whenever I needed something from my storage.

Kind of? I have two small residential areas with three villagers in each, and I'm located kinda between them. The closest villager house to mine is Rodney's, but he has like his own front patio and private beach and stuff lol

(don't worry, my other villagers have large properties too)

All my villagers are spread out on the left side of my island, except for Chief who is right next to me! Can't help that favoritism haha
