Do you keep giving villagers gifts after you get their picture?

Is there a benefit to receiving a villager pic? I've never really understood this... is it just an achievement/goal, or is there another benefit to getting a picture?
No benefit besides the satisfaction. I collect them because I think they're cool, and it's a symbol (so to say) of your friendship with them (since you need a REALLY high friendship level to get one from a villager). They're basically amped-up versions of posters, besides the fact that they have a villager's "favorite saying", birthday + star sign on it when you "click" it (press A when you're near it). <3

Thanks for confirming. I assumed this, but I wasn't sure if I was missing something :)

I just like the pictures to decorate with - indoors and outdoors and to me, it is a token of their friendship/or a memento. They have a lot of value to me especially since it takes a lot longer to acquire than in NL. So to answer your question, it really depends on how you play the game and how you view your interactions with your villagers.

Even with the dialogue being repetitive and their gifts not really good, to me the pictures and them wanting to give me a gift (even if I don’t like it) makes me happy (strangely lol).

In addition to what others have said, they're also really nice furniture; their small size is an attractive option for wall decor and they can also be placed on the surface of tables too, which is really neat. And they are customizable! The villager photos definitely got a major upgrade in this version of the game.

Finally if you look at this game in terms of achievements, getting a villager photo amounts to the final achievement as regards building a villager relationship, so it's a nice goal to build toward.

Only if they're favorite villagers and I find cute stuff for them. Like, I gave Ursala a Sparkly Embroidered Tank after I got her pic because it was TOO cute for her. And, even though I don't have her pic, I gave Tangy some extra clothing (instead of just using coconuts to raise friendship) because I wanted her to have a collection of fruit dresses ☺

But if I don't care about them much, or if I'm hoping to try and get some NMTs for them when they move, I don't.

i don’t ;u; once i get their pic, i’ll only talk to them and complete any favours but i’ll stop giving them gifts unless it’s clothing/an item that i think would suit them aha c’:

Yes. I love the villagers they are my favorite part of the game. I do personal shopping for each one and really enjoy it so I definitely continue it even after I get the photo.

Very early on I had two villagers I couldn’t stand so I gifted them less and skipped wrapping paper (rebel without a cause lol) so their friendship would stay lower bc I wanted them to move out.

But now I typically love or like all of my villagers and if I do wind up with a bad fit I just amiibo them out.

Yes I do! I don’t really care about the pictures, I just like being sweet to my villagers.

Occasionally. I mostly give Bunnie fruit since she is my favorite villager but I have her photo already.

I have about two of Megan pics so I guess I'd keep giving them gifts just to trade their pics off & get another villager's photo

Yes! I love spoiling my babies. I mostly give them clothes that fit their personalities since I'm huge on fashion. Occasionally, fruit or furniture pieces that can be placed on tables.
