I have five cats and couldn't be happier! In New Leaf I had 7, so I did go with a little more variety this time. I have my first long-term wolf neighbor now, for example.
I feel like I could easily have all penguins or all ostriches (or half of each). Those are my two favourite species for sure, and I've already got 3 of each of them on my island lol.
I would love to have an all hamster island, because I like hamsters, they're so small and round, but that seems like too much effort to accomplish so I'll settle for having one hamster villager maybe, someday. I have alot of bird villagers right now though. Im too lazy to go island hopping most if the time, who ever moves in, moves in. If I do go island hoping I limit myself to 5 tickets, it's more fun that way. I figure you don't usually get to pick your neighbors in real life either *shrugs*
I prefer more variety in my island but I love seeing other people’s same species villagers. The only repeats I’ve got are Francine and Chrissy, as well as Reneigh and Julien.
Well, I have thought about it. I do love the look of the squirrels. I find them super cute. Maybe if I could ever think that buying a second switch is a good investment or if I get the portraits of all my current villagers, I might.
I have 4 ostriches, 2 cats, 1 eagle, 1 octopus, 1 hamster, and 1 parasite (Quillson). The ostriches are kind of by accident. I found Raymond on an island and Ankha in my campsite. I invited Marina from an island because I was desperate after a lot of island hopping. Hamlet is one of my originals, but I don't care for him. Did I mention I really want Quillson gone? I did an all cat town in NL, so I don't know if I'll do that again, but I probably won't be able to resist if I find some more. The ostriches are okay, but I don't know if I'll keep them long term. I like that Cranston and Gladys form a cute pair, Flora is cute, and Sprocket is interesting. I really want Phoebe because I'm missing that personality. I like having Apollo because Murica.
I don't think I'll ever do this, since I think a variety of species is way more interesting. If I ever did though, I think I would choose mice. They're such an underrated species and there's so many of them.
