Come join the dark side..
Ohey guys, so I'm currently planning a holiday to Florida for next year.. Which is gonna be quite a stretch considering I have a very fierce fear of flying..
I've never been a good flyer, as when I came back from Spain once, I made the foolish mistake of falling asleep.. I was never woken up for the landing stage of the flight, so when I'd landed, my ears hadn't changed from the pressure, and it felt like a lead balloon had been expanded to breaking point in my head.. About 3 hours later, the pressure broke and I felt a pop so hard that I went deaf for around 5 hours.. The pain was excrutiating D:
Ever since then, I've refused to fly..
While it may seem strange, I've watched a lot of plane crash documentaries to help with my fear.. It's kinda made it worse, but it's also helped me to know how planes work better, as well as where the safest places to sit are depending on the situation.. So it gives me a little bit of comfort
I also plan to face my fear head on next year before I go, and take some flying lessons.. Despite my fear I'd love to be a pilot, I think it's an incredible job, breaking the human capabilities, and helping people to experience something they'll never forget (whether it be their first plane ride, proceed in their business, or take a great holiday)
However, what fears do you guys have? And I don't mean things you don't like, 'cos let's face it, most of us don't like spiders and mice.. But what experiences would generally make you feel fearful?
Sorry for walls of text, and sorry if there's already a thread like this
