Do you have any fears? If so, have you ever been treated for them?

Ohey guys, so I'm currently planning a holiday to Florida for next year.. Which is gonna be quite a stretch considering I have a very fierce fear of flying..

I've never been a good flyer, as when I came back from Spain once, I made the foolish mistake of falling asleep.. I was never woken up for the landing stage of the flight, so when I'd landed, my ears hadn't changed from the pressure, and it felt like a lead balloon had been expanded to breaking point in my head.. About 3 hours later, the pressure broke and I felt a pop so hard that I went deaf for around 5 hours.. The pain was excrutiating D:

Ever since then, I've refused to fly..

While it may seem strange, I've watched a lot of plane crash documentaries to help with my fear.. It's kinda made it worse, but it's also helped me to know how planes work better, as well as where the safest places to sit are depending on the situation.. So it gives me a little bit of comfort :)

I also plan to face my fear head on next year before I go, and take some flying lessons.. Despite my fear I'd love to be a pilot, I think it's an incredible job, breaking the human capabilities, and helping people to experience something they'll never forget (whether it be their first plane ride, proceed in their business, or take a great holiday)

However, what fears do you guys have? And I don't mean things you don't like, 'cos let's face it, most of us don't like spiders and mice.. But what experiences would generally make you feel fearful?

Sorry for walls of text, and sorry if there's already a thread like this :)

i'm afraid of a lot of pointless things because of my anxiety, but i'm probably most afraid of fires. i have a reason for that one though since my house caught fire last year. i live in California so there are always a lot of grass fires every year and this year, it seems like the whole state is on fire or something. whenever i smell smoke in my neighborhood, i kind of freak out.

i used to be afraid of the dark to the point that i wouldn't sleep without my light on and it took 19 years, but now i can sleep with the light off (but only if the tv is on... but. it's something lmfao)

I'm extremely scared of large bodies of water, especially oceans. Probably stemmed from me being stung by a jellyfish as a kid. Also have an intense phobia of insects

I'm scared of death spiders and everything
I think I have anxiety problems because my brain looks for things to be nervouse or scared of :(

I'm pretty claustrophobic. If I'm in any small, enclosed area for too long, I won't freak out, but I get really uncomfortable.

I have a pretty extreme fear to flying, roller coasters, or anything that involves heights in general. Frogs and snakes also terrify me, I cannot even look at them. I also have anxiety which causes me to worry and obsess over things other people without anxiety probably wouldn't.

for about three years i was afraid of eating anything i didn't know the exact nutritional content of, and i mean genuine fear. it was a side effect of my anorexia and i went to therapy for it and have since conquered it, but for a long time it was so out of hand. i couldn't eat at restaurants or my friends' houses, or even meals my mom cooked for me because i couldn't know the exact calorie, fat, sugar, etc. content of what i was eating. i could eat very few foods because even if the nutritional content was listed on the packaging, i refused to trust it and had to do my own research for hours instead. a very odd repercussion is now i can instantly tell you without batting an eyelid the calorie count of almost any food.

i have a fear of eels and being forgotten/ignored

I also have a fear of flying. I have sensitive ears so they do t deal well with pressure.. I have dreams of people forcing me to fly, sometimes I'm lucky to get off before it takes off but I wake up crying.. u.u

I also have an intense phobia of balloons. It's fun being chased with them at school after people learnt of this phobia..
The smell of them makes me cringe, along with the noise.. But I fear anything that makes noise that I can't control. I used to sing for the school band until I developed a fear of amps and the feedback they can create.
Fireworks are a no no also.

I have a fear of failing in life

(basically just not getting into an ivy league)

jk

I have a fear of spiders and various other bugs

I'm afraid of practically everything from loud noises to tight spaces and I'm on an anti-depressant that's supposed to help me not be a chicken

Taxidermy, in art we had to draw them for weeks. I guess that kind of helped me but I still had a lot of panic attacks even near the end.

I'm terrified of heights. Even standing on a ladder can make me really nervous. I have no clue what started the fear and one of my earliest memories is waiting at the bottom of a Ferris wheel as the rest of my family (parents + siblings) ride it. I hate having this fear and wish I could just forget about it as it stops me from doing so many things. I still haven't rode a Ferris wheel even the really small ones ;~;

spiders, spiders and god damn spiders.
they scare the living day lights out of me.

and drowning, since i cant swim, but i love being in the water as long as i can touch the bottom with my head above the water

Vomit. Being sick myself, seeing it, or being around anyone who has recently vomited. I get nervous around nauseous people and excessively drunk people.

Also spiders. m12 will never be forgiven for the time he linked me to a picture of a massive spider and told me it was a Pok?mon drawing. I literally screamed. :(

I would imagine you screaming when you saw that spider. I remember using the bathroom when spider came down while I was doing my business... had to scrub that bathroom down.. :(

i'm afraid of necks. only a bit though.
