Do you have a job?

I have still been bombarding shops and restaurants with my CV, I've only had one interview and I didn't get the job.
There's a toy shop (Smyths) opening in the shopping park not too far from where I live and I've applied there, I hope I get it; I told them I've worked with kids before at my local library for their reading challenge and that I have a strong knowledge of the toys and games industry. I really need a job as my mum is getting a bit iffy about paying for my driving lessons (Even though she said she'd pay for them until I can start paying halfsies for them...) and I need to pay for petrol and my car insurance...

Though my boyfriend's Dad has said he will give me a weekend job if I'm still struggling after Christmas, he is a part-owner of an accountancy.

I consider it a job even though I don't get paid, but I've done community service for three years with Grace. I know the staff really well at the one we go to and they're really nice. It's nice to help people too.

I'm 16 though, and decided a couple months ago myself I'm not mature enough for a paid job until next summer (I don't even know how to do laundry x.x)

Ohhh nice!!:D

Just recently landed a job at a local hospital :) will be working soon as a surgical unit nurse 7pm-7am. Goodbye daytime.

I worked as an intern on a chemistry laboratory. I left about a week ago because my boss was really ignorant and expected me to tell his class EVERYTHING about their lab sessions. Nope.

Isn't that kind of important though? Chemistry lab experiments can cause accidents if you're not careful. That would be like me not explaining everything about carpentry to the class I'm in if I was the teacher. Someone might cut off their finger and I would get sued possibly.

Yes, it's my responsability to keep them safe and prepare the reactives, not explaining what they have to do during the practice or even worse, a subject theyre supposed to have seen in class.

Oh, so your boss was being ignorant by making you bite off more than you can chew. That makes sense then.

Understand this feeling. I work retail though. My main boss makes me do more things than I'm supposed to, and makes me do a lot of his work and likes to take credit for it and brags to our district manger about what a fine job he does running the store.

Not anymore - I was pulled from work and pretty much everything after falling ill about two years ago BUT I did retail for about 5 years before that happened. It was a nightmare and I hope noone else ever has to deal with the stuff my coworkers and I had to deal with every day.

I work at a Law firm as a paralegal. This job makes it hard for me to play animal crossing or really any game :(. I tend to do a lot of time traveling in the game with dates and time. Also it don't help that all my friends are back in San Francisco Bay Area so I have my 3DS in that time zone and not New Orleans time. Cruse you time and how you make fools of us all!!

No, I'm on disability...though I'm thinking of going to back to school and at least getting my GED.

The company I sent an application form to hasn't replied at all, and I'm kind of losing hope that they will. I am considering being a self-employed proofreader. I had thought about it before while in University but just didn't have the time to follow through with it, considering assignments and all.
