Do you have a job?

Supposed to be having a job at Ross as a night stock associate. The pay seems decent, but I can't say I'm a fan of doing anything overnight. I need my sleep haha. In any case, they have to run a background check on me. Already gone to an interview and the like, so I suppose it's only a matter of time. (Though if I'm being honest, I'd really rather not get this job. It's inconvenient for me in too many ways.)

I'm a waitress/server
at a well-known Sports Bar and grill!
Most of my co-workers are great and we all hangout
outside of work as friends. They schedule me ridiculous
shifts at times which means overtime but I've gotta pay the bills somehow!
I'd rather be tired than broke ANY DAY.
Buttttttttttttt, it does take a toll on my ankles though.

is it applebees?

I love my job! I get to travel all over the world, mainly Europe & the Caribbeans!
I'm a Flight Attendant c:

The pay is average definitely not something you could live on your own with, but it pays the bills.. But one of the best perks is that I can travel anywhere for really cheep. The longest/most expensive flight I can take is to Sydney Australia for $130 round trip.. And that's not bad!! I wouldn't change my job for anything!

Jack-of-all-trades desk jockey. That's pretty much my job. It's not my title, but it may as well be. I teach classes, I edit papers, I do travel arrangements for other people, I fix the stupid printer when it breaks... Basically, I do all kinds of stuff. I get paid pretty well for it and it lets me travel around (thus my location over yonder on the left) so I can't complain.

They want me to start meeting with higher ups. I don't particularly want to do it. I'm pretty introverted and even teaching is outside of my comfort zone. Plus, you know, the responsibility of representing my organization in front of higher ups. I just took on teaching to get pay raises (and it got me 2 very large ones over the last few years). But if I do it, I have a higher chance of getting another very large pay raise next summer. Decisions...

It's not easy getting a job that you "Want" :c

Well... yeah. Sometimes you have to resign yourself to the fact that you can't get the job you want, so you have to go with the job that'll pay you decent and that you can put up with.

The job I personally would want is impossible to pay the bills with, and that's writing novels. I'm not kidding myself. My writing isn't good enough to make any money at all really. There's also the fact that I really, really, really don't like being told what to do, having to get up or go to bed at set times, or having to put up with going to an office where I get distracted by co-workers when I'm trying to seriously work on something. But I put up with it because, you know, I like having a place to live and food to eat.

That would be way too scary for me. You could be hijacked by terrorists or something could go wrong with the plane. I'm not sure I could handle one plane ride and you do like a 1000 a day. You're so brave.

Believe it or not, it's safer to be in a plane than it is to be in a car.. Plus nowadays *knock on wood* airport security is STRICT.. The chances of getting hijacked are low.. But I'm trained for worst case scenarios! I've had a man have a stroke on board once... That was scary!

Wow! I didn't think I would find anyone else who worked at a Sports Bar too! You are so awesome. How do your customers treat you? :P They probably sell alcohol where you work too huh. Any major fights happen while you were doing your shift? Did you break anything often? I can't say it was a smooth road for me, but I definitely love working as a waitress there.

As for the hours, they don't overwork us so much. I mean there are weekends when I am doing 14 hours a day at work. It's usually when those major events come by. Montreal hosts stuff like the F1 Grand Prix, which brings in so many tourists from abroad. Those are the longest / busiest days of the year.

The longest shift I've done recently was 12 hours last Saturday actually. The longest shift I have ever done was probably 14 hours actually, in a day. But yeah, usually I am doing 8 - 10 hours a day on the weekends and 4 - 6 hours a day during the week. This is because I am a full-time student. x] Got lucky that they cater to student hour flexibility. Then again, they had motivation (government pays them to do this).

Love working there though. <3

Edit: Are you guys open 24 hours too?

I'm a product consultant at a Canadian frozen grocery chain, but I recently had an interview at a bank so hopefully within a few weeks I can proudly tell people "I'm a banker!!"

Just got back from a 14 hour shift as a bus boy in a restaurant in old mtl, started there last week and i haven't had a single day off....i wish i had a decent pay like a waiter/tress, but still it's better than most jobs give

Most of the time my customers are great!
Some aren't so chatty so it's hard to be more personable with them.
&some customers are rude at times, very needy etc.
&especially when they get mad at ME that their food is "taking
too long etc." when I have NO control over that!

I'm always NOT there when crazy fights etc. happen :'(
And I don't think I've ever broken anything/glasses!
I've had a table that broke a beer glass though, it's usually the bartenders
that break glasses the most :P

Lots of us get overworked because majority of our staff
goes away for college and so the rest that are left behind
and there to pick up the slack/hours.
Almost every Friday&Saturday I work 10AM-2/3AM.
Last week I clocked in at 50 1/2 hours the whole week!!
The week before that I clocked in at 48 hours that week.
It really just depends what we're hosting on TV (UFC/Boxing=popular)
and American football gets us VERY busy on Sunday mornings
but not so much during the week. And we're only open till 2AM!

I do, but due to illness I haven't been to work for almost 3 months now. Its given me lots of time to play New Leaf and just do whatever, which was cool, but honestly I'm getting so bored of being cooped up in home all day and I miss my co-workers. The people I work with are awesome. I hope I'll be able to work with them all again soon.
Anyway, my job is at a small bookstore as a customer experience representative. I love it.

I would KILL to have your job!
How did you go about it? Flight attendant school or!?
Because all I know is traveling.
I've traveled around the world already and
it would just be perfect for me!

Sadly I don't have a job either, I am trying to get on disability pension cause of my depression and tremor disorder but can't get any brain scans to prove I have my tremor disorder, but still find it hard to do certain everyday things sometimes.
Centrelink (social security) are still making me look for a job and I'm supposed to only work 15 hours a week but what work place would wanna hire someone with a condition that makes it hard to do alot of things?!
I am finding it very stressful and my depression feels like its getting worse. My mother in law can't find a job and she has quite alot of experience so I have no chance.
It also makes it hard cause you can't find work with no experience and you can't get experience cause no one will hire you! It sucks!!

I use to work for a Bio-Tech Company as an Administrative/Lab assistant, but since I've moved to another state, I'm hoping to land a job at the airport!

I'm 15 in school, but for the morning I go to a career technology center for a few hours for Digital Multimedia. I work with Photoshop and Illustrator.
