Do you guys think there will be more content added other than events or is this absolutely everything?

Curious what you guys may think. If you think they may possible add some sort of content outside of events, what do you guys think itll be

Brewsters / Gyroids were already somewhat confirmed if I'm not mistaken so I expect things to come. There's no reason they wouldn't implement updates given so many of their other switch installments have done it and they already tested it out with Welcome Amiibo on New Leaf (which I think was a success).

I'm disappointed, and I've been hoping there'll be huge updates.
My guess is that they're treating the game more like an MMO to stop timetravellers from spoiling everything, they'll probably release updates as people get to the days played that they would have unlocked whatever building / upgrade / whatever.
That would let them take more time to work on it, stop timetravellers from progressing, and keep the game fresh.

There will probably be DLC, at the very least. Given that Bunny Day 2021 hasn't been loaded into people's systems yet, I doubt that Nintendo will stop releasing new content altogether, at least this early in the game's lifespan.

We know two things for definite at the moment:
  1. Support for the other characters who have amiibo characters is coming at some point.
  2. There's door data and dialogue about gyroids, art and a cafe in the museum.
Going by the fact that there's also going to be events added fairly regularly, no, we don't even know half of what's going to be added into New Horizons, but I honestly don't think this is it?

Will we have an Explorer's Day with Rover? Groundhog Day with Mr. Resetti? Bushes? Tortimer Island? THE CITY?

Everything's a mystery at this point... and that's kind of refreshing, after the long, long wait between the Japanese and English releases of New Leaf where we learnt ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING about the game... but it's also deeply, deeply frustrating at the same time!

I personally think that more updates will just be events and bug fixes. I wouldn't be too surprised if they added stuff in on an update or two but everyone who excuses the lack of something in ACNH by saying "they'll add it in in an update" is probably gonna be in for disappointment lol

i definitely think there’ll be more content added via updates - they might be sporadic updates but they will happen imo

I think there will be a lot more added in. I think with the quarantine and people having a lot more free time to play maybe they didn't expect people to have as much progress this quickly which is why the game is lacking a little on content? I don't know.

Yes, all this stuff has been confirmed. We've even already found the cafe in datamining and what appears to be a gyroid exhibit in the museum too. Nintendo said they'd add free DLC in Directs and stuff. I'm honestly a little confused as to why people think that there's nothing else except events when we know for a fact it's not

With how successful this game has been and with all of us hardcore fans who have already progressed well through the game, I am confident the likes of nooks will be expandable again, cafe in the museum etc. I hope there are some extra hidden features in the game to be released at some point too!

I just hope that they won't make us buy a lot of DLC to get "the full game" that would make me really mad. It's a full and expencive game, so it should come done, at least give us free dlc -.-

It's hard to say. Since any information about the updates is just speculation, for me, I'm going to treat the game as we have it now as 'completed', and if more updates come, then I'll be excited rather than disappointed.

There are so many NPCs missing from the iteration of the game as we have it now, and compared to New Leaf, New Horizons definitely seems a lot more hollow on release. I wish that some features were added now that are gated, even if it means that time travellers can see them, so there is more of a depth to the game. For example, Label or Kicks being able to open their own store, Gracie visits after a certain period of time...

I just don't want to get my hopes up for nothing, or for a paid DLC.

My thoughts on this is I believe, since Splatoon and Animal Crossing share the same development team, the updates will be like Splatoon's. Splatoon would get gradual updates each month, sometimes introducing more weapons and gear, fixing things, making the main event happen in Splatoon (splatfests), etc.

Why are they doing this since it's so different and jarring compared to the other Animal Crossing games? Splatoon had a lot of luck with these types of updates, and I think they're just being experimental to see if it will also work for Animal Crossing. I personally believe after they do all the holidays and events, they'll do a big patch in that causes more lax versions of these events on their respectful days/weeks. It's what they did with Splatoon and Splatfests, eventually just allowing people to do their own Splatfests in private matches.

Basically, I believe ZekkoXCX has the right thought on this.

There will DEFINITELY be more updates, I can't imagine them leaving it like this. I think they want to space out new content so people don't get bored like a lot of games do, I'm hoping for a lot of things to come, and a lot of things tweaked/changed. I think with time they will add more, hell, they even added new things to new leaf over 5 years after it released, so I can't see why they wouldn't

I hope theres new furniture added at some point, I feel like there were more items in the welcome amiibo update in acnl than there are currently in acnh lol

I just want bushes and will be upset if there will be none. Bushes are love, bushes are life. I want to cover my entire island with hydrangea bushes and I hope that the wallpaper with them is an indication that they might make it into the game.
