Those are my goals in the long term with this game.
Complete the museum, get all the DIY, make at least one of every DIY, earn all the nook mile achievement things, buy every buyable furniture/clothing piece.... Everything. Everything must be done! Even down to making your island look nice while changing it per season and or per new idea.
Wow, I never really thought about it that way! I guess for me, getting all the fossils and are in my museum, getting all the nook miles achievements, getting 5 stars, and getting most of my preferred villagers would probably be completing the game for me. I would also feel like I completed the game when all of the new updates and shops get released and I can integrate them into my island! I don’t think I’ll ever be done with this game anytime soon, but I think all of the above things I’ve listed would probably be completing the game for me.
i want to complete decorating and landscaping my island - my wild world and new leaf towns went unfinished and so i’m determined to complete my island, no matter how long it takes ;;
as for milestones, the main things i want to complete are the museum and my reorderable item catalog - i’m not in any rush and catch new bugs/fish and buy new art when i can and catalog new things when the opportunity arises but i’m not racing to finish it - the joy of coming across things i still need is part of what makes ac fun for me :’>. i also really want to obtain all the diys and i suppose that’s the one thing i’m kinda trying to eagerly do? i’m less than 30 away and i’m assuming that more will be added overtime with events but i’m close with what’s currently available and that’s exciting to me aha
i’m also kinda tempted to complete all the nook mile achievements? but i’m definitely not in any rush to start doing that lol
While I haven't truly 100% completed any Animal Crossing game before this (despite typically being a completionist with video games, lol), I intend to with New Horizons. I would say the main things for me are:
Complete the museum (fossils, which is done/fish/bugs/art)
Learn all DIYs (Almost there! Just seasonal and Celeste Zodiac DIYs left)
Get all Nook Miles achievements
Complete my reorderable catalog (unorderable stuff is a pain and I'd rather not deal with it tbh)
In terms of how fast I am wanting to complete it, it's mixed. Some things (like non-seasonal DIYs, fossils, art) I'd rather get done right away rather than having to luck into getting it or, more specifically for art, having to wait ages for Redd to show up and luck out that he has an artwork that I need (made worse by the fact he hasn't shown up on my island for 4 weeks and counting). Other things (like seasonal DIYs, bugs, fish) I don't mind waiting for or taking my time doing. Eventually everything will get done, though, as long as I keep at it.
tbh i never really was a "completionist" until nh. i never cared about completing the museum or my catalogue in previous games, but i feel like in nh, i need to expand my catalogue since there's only certain variations on islands (i still don't care about the museum besides donating the first, oops sorry blathers). i also really want to complete all the diys, but i put restrictions for myself. i won't go hunting for out of season diys, only the regular and in-season ones so i'll remain invested in the game throughout the year.
