Do you ever spend DAYS landscaping a certain area of town and end up hating it?

I just made a zen garden that looks so funky. I used all my bush starters I want to jump in fire.

Yep- I did that in a few of my previous towns.

It's like painting a masterpiece from the outward in and then goofing up the unrepairable middle.

unfortunately i felt that way about my entire town lmao - i spent so long landscaping and collecting hybrids and bushes only to wind up hating the entire thing

No, I let all of the flowers in my town sprout randomly. I do occasionally plant trees/bamboo but there’s no rhyme or reason to where I put them. I never got into the landscaping aspect of the game. Maybe in New Horizons, but until then, my new leaf town is landscaped by my lovely villagers.

this is literally me, i keep trying to redesign my town and have it be perfect before new horizons comes out but I feel like that's never gonna happen

Happened to me too often. Like, I had a plan in my mind of how to plant certain trees and bushes, spent lots of hours into landscaping and such only to get a resolut that looks like a huge mess. What I hate the most about this is the amount of saplings and bushes I wasted in that time.

Yeah. I once spent two weeks perfecting the area around my house. Ended up disliking it. Changed about two-thirds of it over the coarse of another week and ended up liking that instead.

Yes, I tend to be very meticulous about my decorating and I end up regretting most of my decision later. I can never really make up my mind, probably since I like redecorating a lot. Thankfully, it seems that you can change some of the plotting points in New Horizons, which hopefully includes PWP (if they're still a thing), since that would be so convenient-I'm sure-for a lot of players.

Lol

I haven't. I'm pretty much laid-back so I wouldn't push myself so hard, would just do what I feel like doing that moment. And if it ever end up failing, I would just repeat slow try & see until I'm satisfied with it. I enjoy those repetitive trying process. Bravo laid-back trait.

LOL I feel you. I got frustrated in New Leaf because I would go to dream addresses and they would have a perfect cohesive fairy dream town and I wanted one too!!! I eventually started building blueprints in the sims to see if I like it before using all my saplings. I didn’t this time and I regret everything.

Lmao I genuinely want to know how many bushes I’ve wasted with my bull****

I want Pwp back too!! But most people I. The sub think they are gonna be replaced with furniture which I mean, okay.

I've definitely done that--laid out patterns to determine paths, and then laying down all the flowers, trees and bushes I want, (and even PWPs, sometimes), only to go back and tear it all down for not liking how it looks. I've also landscaped an entire area, torn it down, only to realise post-teardown that I liked the layout after all, and gone through the entire process again-

I centered my whole town around the layout of my villagers my houses at the time, which involved placing paths, and planting about 200 blue hydrangeas around those paths, and placing PWP?s around those. Then when I decided to revamp my town a few months ago, I realized I could plot my villagers houses in a really convenient straight line using plot resetting.. which makes my paths on obselete misplaced and ugly. It?s really bothering me but replacing all the paths and replanting 200+ hydrangeas is a lot of effort. Plus my PWP?s could be in way better places after that. Needless to say, I haven?t started that at all yet lol

I've definitely had this experience. I'm not very good at the planning of large areas, I need to really break things down to a tiny area to design them. And often, as soon as I get to an area and complete it, I realise it doesn't work out the way I imagined it at all! The most nightmarish areas of my town have been near my plaza and the upper side of my river... I can never seem to get it right...

I have collected so much hybrids I have lost the motivation to sort it all out at this point... The idea seems good in my head but the execution of sorting and feeling satisfied with the overall look is way harder. It is not fun working towards something only to change it all in the future.

I can only really attest re-placing patterns with this, otherwise, not that I am aware of? I have had to remove things because of move-ins, but other than that I did not settle on a absolute, thought-out layout until I was pretty much done "experimenting" in New Leaf.

I did this once.

I made a custom path and made paths all through my town, planted flowers, bushes, and trees around it.

Worked really hard over the course of like a week. Then I stood back, took a deep breath....and absolutely hated the whole thing and restarted. XD

It was there zen garden for me too!!! It's just?? Really hard to make it work for me which is sad because i waited so long to get pinged for that pwp y'know? Also high key feel like i should just go ahead and cut down the trees so i can do a more general landscaping concept instead of having just small patches of land that look nice on their own but don't have an over all theme? But i also don't want to be called a stump maker ahuhuhu

This happened with my second town, I wanted like a fairy forest, but it didn't turn out that way at all lol. It ended up looking like a hot mess and some villagers moved in crappy spots due to me being really busy and not playing ;-;
I also have an awkward layout to put a third bridge so I'm still struggling trying to find a right spot for it.

Ugh, story of my life. :( That's why I really have to take my time when landscaping, as to not waste any precious materials </3
