Do you ever get good stuff from shaking trees and do you even bother?

I guess a few days ago I stopped to bother shaking my trees.
I have planted some purple and blue hyacinths, weeds (RIP my 5-star rating) and shrubs beneath some of my trees to actually start molding my Island into a place I love and have kind of felt less inclined to shake them.
The past month or so I've been getting mostly item repeats that are only worth 1-2 k bells (I don't actually remember getting anything I liked for the longest time) so it just seemed kind of pointless but I was wondering if there' s a potential to get some really good or expensive items from the trees.
Do you still shake your trees?

I rarely do mine anymore! I always get weird items or things I don't want. My storage is clogged full of furniture I won't use from trees!

i haven’t shaken my trees in ages and likely won’t be resuming that since i’ve completes my orderable furniture catalog - the main thing i’m interested in now is chopping wood each day to try and get the golden axe diy ;v;

I shake my trees every day, one of the first things I do. I don't really look at what I get though. Just trying to get branches and bells.

Can't confirm, but I've always thought yes it does.

If you want a tip on wasp catching, here's what I do.

1)Equip net
2)Stand directly in front of tree
3)Shake tree
4)Once a hive falls out, just spam the A button as fast as you can

I noticed this works because your character will always face the direction of where you need to be looking.

Can't confirm, but I've always thought yes it does.

Hmm... If it does, it must be a high amount of weeds because they don't seem to affect my rating at all. I'll try and find something on this.

When I went for this, I just made a bunch of flimsy axes and never upgraded to stone. Really sped things up.

This is exactly what I did. It's also good because stone axe require too much wood to keep replacing them over and over.

I'm only like 56 tree furnitures in for the Nook Miles achievement. I used to just do it on mystery islands but I haven't gone on one in a long time. My oak/cedar trees are all surrounded by flowers/furniture/etc so shaking them is usually not worth it.

that’s what i’ve been doing but since i’m lazy, i’ve just been buying the flimsy axes rather than make them myself lmaoo

I wouldn't go as far as to say "good stuff"...but I still do shake them to try to find furniture. Anything I don't have in my catalog is always a welcome addition...whether it's generally worthless stuff or not.

I tend to shake the trees while doing my morning rounds, though I probably get 15 forgettable knick-knacks for every one item that excites me. Just like the balloons, tbh. But so long as I'm collecting fallen branches, I might as well shake the tree while I'm tidying up.

I have a bunch of trees surrounded by flowers but the item will actually fall one row away from the tree, so that works, and I've taken to putting down a single square of clover path in front of some non-fruit trees, so that I don't have to worry about flower creep in more naturalistic garden areas, like my campsite.

Yeah, I have a bunch of weeds in my campsite area for the reason you mentioned. I could easily put more flowers down so that's all that's on the ground but I think weeds look more natural in a campsite.

Oh, as for shaking trees, I used to but I stopped a long time ago. I hate having to deal with wasps. It's not that they're difficult, I'd just rather not deal with them.
