Do you care about your island rating?

I do want to get some Lilies of the Valley as they're also my favorite flower in real-life.
The annoying bit is I no longer have weeds (I only had 1 spawn today) that I desperately need to craft hedges. lol...
So I think I'll try to keep it up for a few weeks just to see how many Lilies of the Valley I can spawn as I heard it can take a while and you can't breed them either.
After that, I'm not going to care. I actually prefer the more natural weedy look.

I did what I had to do to get the 3 stars for K.K. and terraforming, but it was so annoying that I found myself wanting to scream at Isabelle for telling me I needed “more decorations”! I removed so many things after getting the 3 stars that I knew there was no way I’d ever bother with trying for 5 stars and, so far, I haven’t. I haven’t even asked what it is at this point. I’m guessing it’s not 3 stars anymore

My island rating went down from 3 to 2 after I did a lot of landscaping to make the front look amazing. After that I just don't care. You want us to think outside the box but also put a restriction on us? This isn't a school assignment. Ratings be damned. I'll do as I please.

I don't care about the rating at all. I completely threw that out the window once I unlocked terraforming and I haven't looked back. I might care about the golden watering can if it was unbreakable, but for now I straight up don't care. And I use weeds to decorate everywhere.

I thought I would care, but I don't! It would be cool to have jacob's ladders and the golden watering can, but I would rather have lots of trees and weeds for decorations. Besides, I could always trade / buy jacobs ladders, and I only water flowers that I want hybrids from! So at the end of the day, it's more worth it to me to have a little village I'm happy with.

The only way I would ever genuinely try for 5 stars is if there's some sort of crazy incentive, but I think that would be a little unfair to roll that out so late (since you can't store trees and stuff like that), so I hope they don't do that. Thinking about it, if they bring Gracie back... I hope 5 stars isn't a requirement. (I don't see how it would be, but KK needed 3 stars so )

Not at all. Those arbitrary formulas don't really mean much in terms of how a town looks. With that said I really should be focusing on getting a 5 star rating temporarily for the gold watering can DIY, but otherwise not really worth my time.

As it makes sense for the theme I'm going for, I planted about 130 weeds yesterday. My island rating was at 3 stars.

Today, I decided to ask Isabelle about my town, and I was surprised to see that my rating actually improved to 4 stars because of that. I do have a lot of flowers, but I didn't plant more than 5 since yesterday, I just took some that were cluttered in an area and carefully placed them around the largest portion of the north section.

So, not only weeds don't decrease your rating, I believe they can IMPROVE it, if you use them in a deep forest area (like I did).

I just went and checked mine. It was probably only the third or so time I've ever checked. And I'm at 4 stars. At this rate, it should actually be pretty easy to get 5 and stay there. I already have a few more items coming from nook points tomorrow. So...that could very well do it. In which case...I really didn't try at all. Hahaha.

Once I get enough Lily-of-the-Valleys to accommodate a decoration scheme I have in front of my house, I'll let the 5-star rating go and run wild with my island.

I'm designing my island to be aesthetic as possible, and designing in a way that will maintain a 5☆ rating with minimal effort.

It really doesn't bother me. I just made sure to get to 3 stars so I could unlock terraforming, but other than that i'm not fussed.

It would be nice to have a 5 star island, but that is kinda the least of my concerns at the moment xD

Not particularly. I don't care enough about the lilies of the valley and golden roses to do that. But... if my island were to be nice and naturally have a five star rating, I wouldn't complain.

It's not that I don't want a five star rating, I just don't care enough to put in the effort to make it happen.

I care to an extent. I probably will want to get a 5 star rating to get some of those special flowers, but ultimately I care more about how I perceive my island more than how Isabelle rates it.

Lily of the valley are my favorite flower, so I do want to get a 5 star rating in order to get them. However, I also don't want to cover my island in a bunch of furniture I don't actually want in order to get that rating (which is exactly what I did to get 5 stars to unlock the golden watering can lol).
