Do you care about your island rating?

I don't mind, as long as I unlocked the watering can (which I did) its fine with me.

I've never had a perfect rating for any of the games I've played, so I wanna try and get a five star for my island at least. Plus it's been really fun trying to gather furniture and build up my island. Raising a barren island from nothing to a beautiful wonderland must be such a rewarding feeling :')

Yes I care as it took a lot of work to get it.. Every time I do anything on the island one of my 1st stops is to check my rating and make sure what I've done didn't drop it...

Definitely! I've been trying to get 5 stars so I can start growing lily of the valley flowers (they're my favorite) and I also want my island to be the best it can be.
It's taking a while though, I still don't know what I'm going to do with like, 70% of my island yet :( I need more ideas. I have some vague ones but it's gonna take a /lot/ of terraforming to get it done and I might not like it so I'm pretty hesitant to do it lmao

I got 5 stars, got my watering can, and got about 8 lily of the valleys, right now my town is undergoing serious renovations, so I'm not going to worry about the rating. The only thing you get for keeping a 5 star is more lily of the valleys anyway.

Not at all lol. I haven't even attempted to get 5 stars yet. I'm making very slow progress, and I know once my island is fully developed it will likely be at 5 stars so I'm not in a rush. It's kinda like New Leaf, once I got the perfect town status it was all downhill from there back to trash city lol.

I kinda wanna get it to 5 stars and keep it there for a little while to get some lilies of the valley to spawn, but other than that nah, I don't really care as long as I think my island looks okay lol

Not at the moment. I'd like to get to 5* eventually so I can get the golden watering can and so I can get a few Lily of the Valley flowers. But I don't feel the need to rush to get there right now, and I don't feel the need to keep that status longterm.

I care way too much about my rating. I remember when I finished my first big project of terraforming my whole island... I checked Isabelle and she told me "That's a 2 star island." I felt insulted, devastated even. After hours of work, Isabelle called me 2 stars. Her words affected me way more than they should have. I since stopped at nothing until I reached 5 stars just to show Isabelle that I'm better than she thought.

Not really, but I would love to achieve 5 stars one day and start having Lillies of the Valley spawn in my island as they are my favorite flowers irl.

Although I do think it’s ironic that they chose the Lily of the Valley as a “perfect island” plant because if I recall correctly, it’s been known to extremely fatal and lethal towards animals, especially pets.

I care about it and always get super worried when I go about doing some big design changes. I want to forever hold my 5star rating~

During my catalog event it obviously dropped but once it was cleaned up before the day ended I was back up to 5 stars.

I'll get it to 5 star to get the lily of the valley and watering can. once I got a few of those flowers I'm reverting it back to natural. I like the weeds honestly, they're really pretty

I didn't even try to get 5 stars and I got it... It was way too easy for me. I got it before my island was even finished!

Regardless, once I got the golden watering can DIY, I haven't checked my rating. The only reason I know I'm still at 5 stars despite doing more work on my island is because I got another Jacob's Ladder spawn a couple of days ago.

Only to unlock whatever item is rewarded for it and to get a couple of Jacob Ladders, otherwise no because I don't like adding too many trees and flowers, I prefer some areas to have less, depending on the theme I'm going for.

I, personally, am extremely quantitatively driven. Therefore, I HAVE to have a five-star island or I will go nuts. I've been at five-star for a few weeks and am obsessed with ensuring that my rating does not decrease for any reason. I'm just as serious about things like HHA. I HAVE to increase by at least 10,000 every week. But that's just me and my competitive nature manifesting itself in Animal Crossing.

Finally got a 5 star rating today and just did it to unlock jacob ladders. After I get a good amount I won’t care anymore but why doesn’t it just stay at 5 stars? :c

I care a lot about my island rating. I am definitely a bit of a perfectionist and I want to do well in video games too, even games like Animal Crossing. It would probably make me quite agitated if I were to drop down to 4 stars so I want to keep my island at 5 stars. I worked hard to get my island to this point and it definitely makes me feel like I've accomplished something pretty fantastic.
