Do you care about Tier List when choosing your Villagers?

Somewhat. I don't look and see Sherb, Merry, or Raymond as must haves cause everyone thinks they are the best. But kind of the opposite?

I find a lot of the Squirrels rather cute and wanted to experience some of them on my island. I was drawn to Marshal overall and might invite him down the road when I run into him, but I was also drawn to Sheldon for example. And when I think about how much love and appreciation Marshal gets while someone like Sheldon gets nothing... it makes me appreciate and love Sheldon more cause he doesn't get that from most.

I've had a wide variety overall. I have had/have Judy, Julian, Wolfgang, Goldie, Etoile, Molly, Merengue, and Beau on the popular side. While I have also had/have Rex, Sheldon, Tammi, Sydney, Jacques, Groucho, and Biff on the outcast side.

No. I really don't mind what their ranking in popularity is at the time. I like/love whatever villagers I want. Alfonso is a villager that is not top tier in the slightest, and he is my favourite and has been for a long time. The tier list doesn't affect me or my choices on my villagers at all.

I tend to have a mix of popular and unpopular on my island at any one time. But their ranking on the tier list is not what made me choose them. I just choose the ones I personally think are cute.

Not really. If I want a villager that happens to be in tier 1 it's not because of that, but a coincidence, although I must admit that I like most high-tier villagers. I also dislike many others, though.

I don’t care about tier lists at all when I’m adopting villagers for myself. It only matters to me how I feel about them when I see them. For instance, Marcel 💚 is like D or E tier, but he’s my favorite villager of all time and I met him on a mystery island and fell in love immediately, but when I saw Marshal for the first time, I thought he was tiny and boring and uninteresting. Yet i can’t complaint bc I make much more money here selling Marshals 😂.

I get that the tier lists are useful for making more tbt, but I dont use them to price villagers in my shop. Because it becomes a popularity and beauty contest and I think it’s kinda weird to price these cuties by something so subjective. I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the value of a villager comes from someone simply wanting them. Why should the value of another villager be less because other people say it’s ugly? To the person adopting that villager, the villager is precious and means something.

I really have no problem with other people using tier lists and having fun with them. I just dont use any tier list personally, and all villagers I love have been because I simply liked their vibe in the beginning💕💫

No, I have my own picky criteria lol.

I go for a certain aesthetics for each ac game (except for my first game WW) and I look for villagers who would go w/ that theme and I'd have to like their house exterior too. Then usually I'd get too attached to some & they'd stay despite not fitting w/ the theme ha!

I do have a personal goal of trying to get all the non-amiibo villagers to pass through my island just because early on I found Megan, and then Raymond twice on the mystery islands and I love Dom for my permanent villager, so that became a side quest. Only Judy is left on the list!

I don't pay much attention to it but I do tend to like villagers from the top to middle of the tier pack since they tend to be cute. I have had and liked some lower tier villagers but often they are lower tier for a reason, like the design is less well thought out.

Never cared for tiers that much, I always pick my villagers based of their design and not their popularity. A quick check and it seems I do tend to like more villagers from lower tiers than from the higher ones, which is totally fine for me.

not at all — in fact, i haven’t even really looked at a tier list since i had a cycling town in new leaf lol.

choosing villagers has always been difficult for me as i have so many favourites, but stuff such as popularity, species, gender, etc have never really influenced my choices. the only factors that i take into consideration are a villager’s appearance, if they appeal to me and any previous interactions that i may have had with them. :’)

Not consciously, but subconsciously I tend to pick out those villagers.
I think I'm drawn to a lot of those more just because you see them more often :p

Nah, if I could warm up to the villagers I got even if I didn't like them at first, I would not care about the tier list at all. I barely had a look at them since opinions vary from person to person.

Wow.

Up until now, I never knew there were tier lists at all.

Ya learn something new every day.

I don't usually. I prefer having underrated villagers on my island, but there's plenty of popular villagers I love too. If I see a villager I love when hunting, I'll usually take them, no matter what everybody else thinks. That's why I have villagers like Anabelle and Cranston living next to Judy and Marshal.

Not really. I chose the villagers based on how they look and how much I like their personalities. Tank I got surprisingly attached too because he was my starter.

I think half of my villagers are in the higher end of the tier list and the rest are in the bottom and it never bothered me

Nah. Purrl is my all time fav and she frequently appears in the lower half of the tier list. I do think I have a tenancy to like the villager the higher they are on the list, but I think that's just them having more broad appeal designs near the top.

The only tier list I care about is my personal one hahah
But in all seriousness, popularity of a certain villager doesn't affect my opinion on them. If I like them - I like them. If I dislike them - I dislike them, no matter how high they might get placed on someone else's tier list

Nope!
I go by who I want regardless of popularity. Though in other games, I may chose the most hated characters or least used.
