Do you care about having repeat species?

not bothered by it! I just keep whoever that I like and somehow ended up with a lot of squirrels and wolves. yeah the wolves look too cool to not want em haha

I currently have three dogs which I think is a bit much. But since two of these dogs are among my personal Top 3 villagers, there's no way I would want to avoid having them. I will try to enjoy the third one until he decides to go. My ideal lineup would be my two favorite dogs (Lucky and Cherry), two cats (Tabby and Monique, although I would possibly "settle" for Olivia if I can't find Monique) and two anteaters (Annalisa and Olaf).

I would not be able to choose just one deer or just one wolf. Having all varied species doesn't matter that much to me.

I don't mind having repeat species, but only to an extent! I've tried not to have more than two of any species to ensure some variety. I do think it's fun to have a full themed island with one species, but I don't think I could personally choose just one species!

Edit: I now have 3 wolves and only one each of other species, and I'm finding that I don't actually mind it!

I'd have all wolves if I didn't like so many deer. But right now, I have an okay mix (cat, rhino, dog, duck, octopus, deer x 3, wolf x 2)

Currenlty I have no repeat species on my island. But if a dreamie was a repeat species, I would adopt him. But when I'm casually looking for villagers to replace the non-dreamy spots, if I see same species villager I tend to pass on them. (unless they are the most amazing thing that ever happened- Looking at you Lily! And kick the other villager. lol )

I don't mind for repeats! As I was writing out the villagers I wanted, I realized I had two of each species... my current dream villagers on my island:

• marshal (squirrel)
• static (squirrel)
• raymond (cat)
• punchy (cat)
• zucker (octopus)
• pekoe (cub - grew to love her! now she'll never leave LOL)

When thinking about the remaining villagers I knew I wanted a spread of villagers (my current list is missing uchi tho ; and I thought genji & pekoe matched SUPER well so my remaining list went...

• genji (bunny)
• bunnie/chrissy (bunny)
• judy (cub)

The fact that judy was snooty (i thought she was peppy) & genji was a jock (I thought he was cranky) worked SO well for me! I'm 60% there, but will use some amiibos I ordered for the remaining three

at one point I was hosting cat island with 4 cats...(almost took in ankha too!!!)

I am aiming for variety, but I wouldn't turn down a villager I like purely on the grounds that I already had another of the same species.

Right now I have: cat, chicken, anteater, goat, cow, wolf, bear, deer, squirrel, and horse.

A little bit, I want my town to be as diverse as possible. For example I want Marshal and Mint in my town but them being both squirrels kinda bothers me.. I'll probably end up having Soleil as my snooty as I originally planned but Mint is such a pretty color and I've never had her before so idk ;o; it's not a huge deal, I definitely wouldn't want 3 or more of the same species in my town though.

It doesn't bother me. I just have whatever villagers are my favourites and if they happen to be repeat species then that's OK.
I love Alligators, Cats, Wolves and Deer the most so my island is mostly those!

I have 3 horses at the moment, hoping to move out the 2 I'm not too fond of eventually. I don't mind repeat species too much, it's just there's tons of other villagers I'd love more.

I don't mind. I really like dogs, wolves, deer, bears and cats so I'll often have more than one of those. It doesn't bother me.

I’m one of these people that doesn’t like repeat species in my town. So when I found Punchy on an island it was really sad cause I would have loved to bring him home but I already have stupid glasses cat who refuses to leave. Same with Olive and Dobbie. I already have Stitches and Wolfgang and I didn’t want to double up.

I have all unique species right now, but would love to welcome more of the same. Many of my favorites are either dogs or wolves so I was considering an island inhabited by Lucky, Dobie, Wolfgang, Audie, Walker, Skye, Lobo, Fang, Freya, and Goldie.

As long as there's a few different personalities in the mix I'm a happy islander ❤

While I can see why some people would want a "<species> only" island or town, I prefer having some variety.
Two villagers of the same species is okay for me, but I try to avoid having more than that.

I kinda do unconsciously, I kinda prefer having a diverse set of villagers, but now that I'm having other villagers spontaneously I find other villagers really cute as well so I might change some of the dreamies in my final list and just be okay if I have repeats of the species as long as I like them...
