Do you care about having repeat species?

I think so... my original idea for my town was to have only 8 villagers, all different personality and species. When I got a few of the new villagers I thought that i’d be okay having two or three of the same personality and species. But now, it’s really bothering me seeing both Rosie and Raymond in my island. In fact, I had Marshal in my island prior but had to kick him out because of a sea bass (he’s coming back don’t worry). With Raymond around, it really bother’s me to see him have the same dialogue and conversations as Marshal. I’m still contemplating on what to do but i’m leaning in on letting go of the new villagers. They have not asked to move out but i’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I personally feel the same- I'd rather have a bunch of different species, just like I want maybe 1 of each personality, EXCEPT when it comes to frogs... I want lots of those but I have too many other villagers I like lol and also when it comes to bear Cubs because I want both stitches and Judy.

Lol, I have two of each of the following; dogs, wolves, squirrels, and deer. I have no problem with this.

I used to care but then goats happened LOL, I have Velma and Pashmina in town already and if I happen to find a goat like Sherb or Chevre or Nan i'd take them as they're just too cute! I try to keep my island diverse but I love goats just too much.

Nah. I just choose villagers I like. I don't enjoy stressing over whether or not I have repeat species, or personalities for that matter.

i care, i make sure to have 10 different species and at least 1 of each personality before i get 2 extra personalities

except in new leaf i made an all rabbit villager town, that was the exception

Nah, I don’t mind repeats at all. One of the ideas I considered before I even had the game was an island full of cats.

Wolves and deers are my favorite and I don't mind having 2, or at most 3, as long as they have different personalities.

personally, yes! I like having the extra diversity, and it keeps me from picking all wolves/cats :'0

Nope! In fact I'm aiming for a mostly all wolf island!

Same! Half my island is wolves and I love it. I tried to pick animals of different species that I liked, but I kept getting drawn to the wolves. I also never had many in NL, so I decided to go for it in this game.

I don't mind having a few of the same species, I especially love the deer, sheep and wolf villagers. I'm definitely trying to diversify my islands a bit more though :)

Ahh I really want to have 10 different species but it looks like I am going to end up with 2 wolfs and even possibly 2 deer.

Like I always knew Wolfgang was going to be my cranky because he is my absolute favorite cranky. But then yesterday I found Audie on an island and I already love her a lot so I think she is gonna stick around to be my peppy. But they are both so aesthetically different, I think I'm okay with it!

And I know Fuchsia is sticking around as my sisterly, but I might eventually want Diana as my snooty. I am going to try to get Julia first and see how I like her, but who knows!

So for me, I like having it as a goal, but I am not going to prioritize it over having villagers I love. Plus there are some species I really just don't like anyway, which helps

I don't mind as long as they are different personalities. Some villagers like the deer all look very different.
I ended up with three wolves on my island now by accident, lol.
