Do you care about having repeat species?

I would love to have all my villagers be from different species, but it is not important to me and i do think i am gonna end up with repeats. Just go with who you like and replace them later if you find yourself bored.

I kind of like having repeat species. I've thought about having an island with 5 different species and 2 of each. I might end up having 10 different species for my final villagers, I don't know. I really like Pietro, Willow, and Dom though so it would be hard to decide on just one of them.

I don't try to force species diversity like I do personality. My island currently has 4 deer totally by accident.

I don't mind! I'm really, really partial to the wolves and deer in this game, so I usually have multiples of them. What really matters to me is making sure I have one villager of each personality type.

I love having anyone, species doesn't matter really. They can all be cute and it doesn't take away from your island to have many so if I like them, why not!

I guess it's not a problem I've really ever come across, but I do think about species and would like to have diversity in that area. But personality is a little more at the front of my mind when I'm looking. Then again my OCD mind wants everything organized and equally partitioned - I actually have all my flowers broken up by area of the island (my roses and tulips are even broken up by color!) and plan to do the same with bushes. Pear trees all in one location, normal trees all in another, foreign fruit in the orchard lined up, bamboo, cedar and palms the same way... guess I'm crazy lol. But I tend to think about villagers that way as well.

Vic seemed like a cool cranky cow when I stumbled upon him on a NMT island once, but since I had Naomi at the time I passed on him. I also passed up Blanche because I had Sandy. Poor choices both of them, especially the latter now that I have no snooty, two peppies and two crankies and neither of the extra ones do I want to keep. Oof.

Not really and tbh I'm not entirely sure why people do? You can still have species diversity while still having 2 or 3 or even more of the same species! 3 is probably the limit for me personally though unless I'm doing a town/island with a specific theme that requires it. But I mean, Erik and Diana and Zell are all deer but they all look extremely different from each other. Julia and Gladys and Flora are all ostriches but they're all very unique. Audie and Kyle and Skye are all wolves but I'd never feel like my town would be less diverse for having them. I could go on but really, they all look different and still give different dialogue if they're different personalities, so I'd say people should just pick whoever they think is cute and not worry about having too many of one species!

No lol I have four goats and two wolves. I really love repeats and would love to have more sheep tbh

I tried to avoid it but left a plot open and was ill so didn’t play much came back and flo had moved in even though I already had sprinkles. Hoping flo asks to leave soon 🙃

I'm fine with it lol, I have 4 cats and 2 wolves, and I had like 7 cats at one point in NL

I tend to partner my villagers up lol, I like having 2 of a species, but still diverse personality-wise. Don’t know why I do this but always have! In my mind I think of them as being related or friends or somethin’ and it makes me happy! And it isn’t a rule I’ll have odd numbers and single species, it’s just something I lean towards

I really wanted my first 10 villagers to be all different species, but then Sherb happened and I already love Velma. Then I found out about Nan and Chevre being opposites of each other. And I really want Pashmina because she is super cute. Ideally, I want the Pashmina from my friend's island. Since when did goat become my favorite villager type?

I don't really think about it. I have 2 cats and 2 squirrels. I love all of them, so choosing to get rid of someone isn't an option.

Im having this dilemma with both Raymond and Ankha in my town I might kick Ankha out for the sole purpose that I already have Diana as another snooty and I already have another cat (Raymond) so it depends
