Do you care about having a “gender balance” of villagers?

I love having one from each personality personally, because I feel like it keeps the dialogue fresh. I also love when villagers have little dramas lol so I like diversity so I guess I balance the genders

I currently have more girls (Sally, Sylvanna, Poppy, Francine, Bonbon and Hazel) than boys (Genji, Static, Marshal and Claude) on my island.
I have 3 normals, so that's why I have more girls.

I prioritize having a balance of all the personalities (1 of each, then an extra smug and snooty) and species (50% deer for my theme then one cat, rabbit, squirrel, lion, and wolf). I like having the genders balanced too and it worked out this time, but I don't mind losing that balance for the sake of a villager I really like

I'm more of personality balanced than gender balanced, I already have two normals and two snooties so in the end, my lineup would be 4 males:6 females which is fine by me since I care more about having all the personalities than gender... Originally it would've been 5:5 but I met Judy today on my 9th NMT and I just can't let that opportunity pass by so lol but that meant I'll have to sacrifice Beau for now might end up kicking either Diana or Judy in the long run or stick with them and not have Beau... Hard choice but gotta do what I gotta do to have all personality types on my island lol now I'm wisihing for the villager count to be increased in the future updates (at least add two more slots for a villager, that'll solve my problem)...

Nope I couldn’t care less and almost always end up without a jock and with an extra peppy/normal/uchi
So 7 female, 3 male average lol

but sometimes I want want extra lazy/smug/cranky and it evens things out a bit more, but it’s still usually more female than male

Honestly the fact that the villagers have genders at all is super secondary to me.

i really wanted a gender balance.. not for any other reason than i like most things to be balanced on my island (personalities, species, hobbies, etc) and ended up having only slightly more males than females due to 2 smugs and 2 lazies. drives me sliiightly crazy but really don't think about it too much.

Not really something I'd considered. I don't even have "dream" villagers or favorites. I just let most of my villagers move away when they want to...and then I replace them when I find another that I like. It usually takes me about 2 or 3 trips to an island to find a villager that suits me, and then I just take em...male or female.

I’m unsure if it’s because I’m not cishet but I usually don’t even see the gender of my villagers, aha. I just go by looks because it doesn’t affect how I treat them or how I view their relationship with others.

I have four female villagers and six male.

I like to have one of each personality, and I really like Wolfgang and Fang, so I have two crankies, and I like Freya and Mathilda so I have two snooties.

I strongly prefer balance in pretty much everything, so yes. I can live with 6:4 since it’s not too much of a skew, though 5:5 is preferable. I have 7:3 in favor of males right now because of a void move-in though, ugh. I might amiibo him out just so I don’t feel so annoyed waiting for him to move.

Right now I believe it is split 5 to 5 (2 Peppy, 2 Lazy, 1 Sisterly, 1 Snooty, 1 Normal, 1 Cranky, 1 Jock, 1 Smug). This wasn't intentional persay. I do care about personality balancing, so that evens out things pretty well to begin with. Ultimately, I plan on keeping this balance, but there's no intention behind the gender balancing itself for me.

I don't really care about gender balance, but I do want all personalities represented. My bummer currently is subtype hobbies and how I want to try and balance those better on my island.

I don't care about gender balance as much. I usually only focus on species/personality for balance. I just happen by chance to have a 50/50 male/female, which I guess works out!
