In my church, many people think Earth is only 6,000 years old, although I don't. Do you believe that it's only 6,000 years old?

Yeah there's a lot of scientific evidence to go by that says the Earth is way older than 6,000 years old. I went once with my cousin to a Smithsonian museum and she kept trying to tell me neanderthals weren't real, but she also was a firm believer that the Earth is only a couple thousand years old and that dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time.

Honestly I think that you'd have to be pretty silly to even interpret the bible that way. If I'm not mistaken this comes from a passage that states that to God 1000 years is like a day. Then people use that to say that the creation of the world in 6 days means that it happened 6000 years ago.

That's like saying that on page 3 of a book it talks about a guy who catches a large bass, so on page 25 the girl who plays the bass must be playing a large fish. Like please understand some basics about context people.
