Do the birthday cupcakes go bad?

Today's my birthday and I really think the cupcakes are cute. I wanna keep at least one around, but I don't know if that's a good idea. Can they go bad/rot?

I mean... mom's cakes don't go back and they come in a small gift box attached to a letter (did anyone think about ratios here? lol) so i'd assume that they don't.

I'm pretty sure the only items that rot in ACNH are the turnips.

Yeah can confirm. Tt'ed years at a time both back and forth before I reset and nothing ever happened to the upcakes.

They don’t! My main and side characters all had their birthdays so I have multiple cupcakes that I use for display.

I have had cupcakes displayed in my cafe area for at least 2-3 months and they have not changed. I don't think they'll be going bad at all! They already would have by now, so you're totally safe to display!
