Do / did you have braces?

Hey, so I was wanting to know how many members here have / had braces, and what your experience was like with them.

I've had mine for a few months, and I'm happy with them - they don't hurt at all, even when tightened, and they're not too hard to deal with. The only thing I find annoying is having to use that...tiny...interspace toothbrush....thing......xD

So yeah....how about you?

I have (dat jawline tho) a large jaw, and my teeth are perfectly positioned, but not flat on the bottom and it's weird so I don't teeth smile very much.

nope, luckily my teeth are straight naturally, but as a kid I thought braces looked cool, especially when girls had cool color bands on them lol

I had them when I was about 13? I only had them on my top teeth. I hated having them at the time because they used to rub against the inside of my mouth and they made it hard to eat certain foods, but they're totally worth it in the end.

Also getting them tightened hurt really badly for me, I remember one time I physically couldn't touch my teeth because they were so sore for a few days afterwards, and I could only eat soup...

Yup and I just recently had my last orthodonist appointment for my retainers, though I really didn't need braces in the firstplace I got them because some of my bottom row was bothering me

also they sanded down my front teeth and now they aren't even which I am kind of bummed about

I had braces when I was like 12-14 and I (regrettably) got them taken out earlier than I should because they were annoying the sht out of me and I'd had them for years. Now I realise that was a mistake because my teeth are still pretty crooked and I want braces again but I can't get them without paying thousands because I'm over 18, fab.

Nope! I haven't ever had braces before, and I don't think I ever will. My dentists have all said they're an option if I don't like the way my smile is, but I'm fine with my smile, so I opted out.

Yes. They put you through hell, but in the end they do the job.

Had them, but my teeth just got messed up again anyway. They were never really THAT bad. I think it was a really big waste of money, but that's fine. I didn't pay for it (or even want it at all). My dentist mom is way too focuaed on perfect appearances.

I had them from mid-freshman year to mid-junior year. Now I have to wear retainers which are super annoying to have to put on and take off but recently I've just decided to wear them overnight and leave them off during the day
