Hello! I was curious if scanning amiibos will mess with campers. I personally love the random campers and look forward to their visit so I haven’t scanned my amiibo in yet.
I’ve been saving my amiibo to scan in if there’s a camper I don’t like, but I’m wondering if I’ve been doing that in vain. Ah I safe too scan it in on days without a camper? Can someone confirm if they scan their amiibo in, the next day a camper still showed up? :0

I think that amiibos do count as campers and mess with the respawn rates. If you enjoy having random visitors, then I would suggest scanning them in when you get a visitor you don't like as you mentioned :)

Ahh thank you! Rip :’) I’ll slowly get my amiibo villager in one day

Amiibo reset the camper spawn chance. I think you have the highest chance of getting a camper after 7 days of no campers.
