I think it's just looking for things to put in a bad light and just repeating some jokes seriously, like Nook being a loan shark.
If anyone wants to see a person's take on New Horizons by someone who has never played Animal Crossimg before, there's plenty of that on YouTube. And those come from people who are genuinely interested in the game and chose to play it. It's just easy to get clicks on hating likable things.
