Dirt Pathways

I agree! Id love to line my paths with flowers trees and bushes, I imagine it to turn out well but the process will definately be a long one  x

It's what I did, and WOW did it take an insanely long time! Really. No joke! I started lining bushes around my flowers originally to protect them, and that slowly grew into protecting more and more and more until finally I had dirt paths lined with bushes/trees. I started it around August of 2013, and didn't finally stop planting bushes until November of this year. Part of it is trying to stay within that stupid 12 touching thing, and the 7x7 total area, because I lost a LOT of bushes over those 15 months! If you want to see how I did it, visit 5500-4441-1777, and see for yourself (it snowed a few times so some of the dirt is covered over). In the end I'm happy with it, because I can run all over my town.

Actually, too bad you can't visit islands in dreams, I put a labyrinth on my main island using red/yellow hibiscus, because I was in such a bushy place planting these things, I carried it over to my island. It's the only one I know of to have something like this, and the only way to show it off without people coming is to post pics like this (you think my main town took forever, this island planting took even longer)

How exactly is it done? Like is there a guide on how to do it?
I think I'd like to try it. >.<

Dirt paths can look nice and natural if you have nice surroundings :3 I have some dirty paths in my town; one leading to Pekoe's house and a path leading to the flower clock. It does take patience to run on the grass however.

Perhaps an easier way would be to build a public works project in the size that you want, then cancel donations so that the next day when the PWP is gone, it leaves a neat patch of dirt.

Haha, Imlove all of these ideas and hearing lots of peoples opinions! Ill be sure to visit your town soon pika!

I've got some dirt paths. I've always loved them and had huge maze like dirt paths all over my CF town. Most of mine at the moment are work in progress but you can sort of see what I'm doing with it. My DA is: 6600-2182-2448

This is such a good idea! I'll have to try it. :D

If you're wondering how I did it, on my island, I collected the bushes first (only 5 medals each, so pretty easy to stock up on both). Then, I laid out the bush bags first to design the paths, and everyday planted only 1 or 2 of them- I had to go slow, because losing just one or 2 a day isn't as bad as losing like 10 or 15. I also had to go from the bottom up, since they're fairly clustered around each other to stay within the limit in the 7x7 area. Then, after I got them finally finished, put the trees in (unfortunately trees count in both the 12 touching and the 7x7 area- try to move away from clustered areas, or chop down trees, and replant them later, because bushes are more temperamental than trees). These are the little things I learned from doing this for so many months. Lay out your bushes in bags first to get an idea, only plant a few a day, and remember the limits, that way it'll save you lots of time/money(or medals) from having to replant them over and over and over.

i would do dirt paths but i think i like clover paths a lil better :^)

I thought about doing clover paths, until I realized with 2 towns played daily after nearly 2 years, only having a dozen of them at this point, it's going to take a long, long, VERY long time to do! Unless you can buy a LOT or time travel to grow them or can dupe them, it's going to take a very, very long time to grow them! I put my only ones around my campsite, and called it quits even trying anymore.

If anyone has any pictures handy of where their paths connect to areas like Re-Tail, the plaza, and/or train station, I'd love to see. Those are the areas of dirt decay that got me into paths in the first place. I felt it looked blah. Then again, I didn't have any decorating going on yet.

I'll visit DA's later, but I just think pictures are great, too. Especially for those that haven't unlocked the Dream Suite yet. c:

Check out AForestLife's Blog.

Or visit her Dream Address. (4800-2245-2005). I haven't been to the Dream Town in a while so I don't remember how much dirt paths she has or where they are.

This is all great! Im also looking for ideas around places like the town hall, train station and especially houses, both characters and villagers. So far I think Im planning to surround my plaza with trees and bushes and have one or two paths coming out x

LOL That's what I did. I gave my plaza its own little area, because it's only for special visitors/events anyway, however, it's also bordered by a river to the north, so in the tiny space between, I connect it to my Wild World town by filling it with money trees and gold roses (it's also a nice little "wow factor" when dreamers first wake up, since you know, only dirt for paths, kind of boring to some people).

Thats amazing! I think Im going to use lots of different flowers trees and bushes to keep things interesting :) x
