How long does it usually take to get a dirt path and how hard and how much time do you need to maintain it/keep it there without disappearing, and will it go away if you tt?

I run on my paths and if I pull them up, they're solid dirt. I don't know how long it took, but you won't be able to maintain them in the winter. The snow really grows your grass back fast (even though it's covered in snow).

Hmm...Maybe I will just get a path that looks natural, except there's no colors in the game that match the dirt.

I WISH there was a proper colour selector tool in animal crossing, it would make things like this so much easier. And transparency so you could make your own realistic curved dirt paths. Is it really that hard to maintain dirt paths during the winter? Recently turned my entire town into a dirt path town but havent played in the winter yet - would they be possible to maintain without time travel, as I dont TT in this town? Sorry don't mean to take over your thread, would just really like to know! :)

I just know from bare spots. They went away quickly with snowfall. I don't know about people actively maintaining dirt paths. I'd assume if you reached a point where you didn't have to run much anymore to keep your path, you'd have to step up your efforts with the snow. Maybe someone with dirt paths can weigh in.

Yes, it is really hard to maintain dirt paths in the winter time, to the point when I went through winter, even without time travel, I gave up. It just snows so frequently I had troubles keeping up. If you use all of your paths everyday it might be easier, though?

For colors, it's possible to mix colors to match dirt with an alternating checker pattern, but appearance of dirt color can vary based on the time of day or the weather. If you do make natural looking dirt, you'll either have to focus on a certain time of day/weather (like if you prefer a particular time of day for your dream town) or change it frequently.

Two on the top are during the morning (9am), one clear and one overcast, two on the bottom are during the same conditions, except at night (9pm).

There's also dealing with the sharp edges of a pattern, but flora can hide those, after all.
