I did try posting in the thread for New Leaf questions, but it got no responses, so I thought I'd try and make a thread. Apologies ahead of time if it's in the wrong section.

I deleted all the photos off of my SD card through the camera application and apparently that included digital downloads of games like Animal Crossing. It was an older town that I never really touched anymore and that's all I had on there, so I'm not too upset that it's probably gone, but I'd still like to know how to fix this issue.

I looked through the eShop for New Leaf to download it again and was told there was no redownloadable content. I thought it was weird. After turning my unit off and then on again, that little gift box appeared where New Leaf's digital copy used to be. It unwrapped, I tapped it, and now I'm forever stuck on the red and pulsating "Nintendo 3DS" logo that starts before any game.

Here's a video someone else captured of the same exact issue.

Oddly enough, it still seems to have all my data stored. I can check in the activity section and it says how many hours I've played that digital copy and such. I'll manually delete it and download it again as a last resort, but in case there's any way to salvage the data, I'd like to ask the forum first.

Hmm, I've never heard of this before. I suspect that the save file has probably gone, as the activity section does show any games that you played on that unit.

Bumping this in the hopes someone else will be able to help you more.

Yeah, I have no idea why clearing the photos and videos wiped out the digital copy of all my games. I appreciate the bump. And snoozit, it says no updates are available for any of them.

When you cleared the photos and stuff of your SD card, did you remove it or leave it in the system?

I don't use digital copies of the game, so forgive my ignorance. It's possible the SD card isn't locked in securely or maybe the lock/unlock switch on the card got moved and that's causing an issue?

Beyond that, I'm not sure what else it could be. Perhaps trying calling Nintendo customer service as a last resort...

I left it in the system, but I've since removed it to check it out and make sure there's no damage. I've clicked it in and out a few times in an attempt to be sure it's secured, but the issue persists. Still, all good suggestions.

Oh my..and now I'm reading that some 3DSes stopped being able to read SD cards...I really hope that's not your problem.

I'll try the options in the thread you linked, thank you. Unfortunately, a good majority of it seems to include deleting the game itself, but I should probably just accept that the data's screwed as it is. I think I will call Nintendo soon.

I hope that's not the problem either. I can try my sister's SD card from her 3DS to test that theory, though, or put mine in hers and see what happens.

Hmm, seems like it's stuck have you tried charging it whille turning it on and off and stuff, I think there's a way to reset your entire 3DS. Maybe calling for customer services they could guide you into why that's happening, if all doesn't work maybe you could talk to them and see if you can get a hard copy of the animal crossing new leaf game and start fresh again...I found a similar post under this link hope that might help!

There might also be a video on how to fix, but yeah good luck!

Thank you! What do you mean charging while turning it off and on, though? I've never heard of that before.

Bumping this one more time because I haven't made any progress.

Bump!
I'm really sorry to hear this happened to you. I hope you find out exactly what's going on soon! ;v;

Have you tried contacting Nintendo? Unfortunately, there's only so much we can suggest from either personal experience or Internet searches.

At this point, I would say going through customer service is a last ditch effort to try and salvage your game.

SEEMS LIKE YOU WERE HACKING, YOU HACKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! X(

It seems your caps lock button is stuck and you're just going around "trolling" as it were. Unless you act in a respectful manner, there could be consequences so just... stop. And yes, I'm peeved about you giving a negative WiFi rating just because I welcomed you to the forums. That is only to be used for if you actually have played ACNL online with that person!

Dude, hackers mostly aren't bad people. A lot of people hack just so their town is the way they want it, and it's their game.

Anyway, hope it fixes, OP! If its a downloaded game, you should be able to go to eShop, find the bit for ACNL, and scroll down to Download Repair c:

Yeah, that's messed up. You should try contacting one of the mods; they can get the negative feedback removed if you explain what happened.
