Did the distance we can jump change.....?

For a long time I’ve had a hiking trail through the forest on my island. Part of the trail crosses a waterfall that you have to jump across in several places. I hadn’t been up that way in a few weeks, but when I tried to cross the waterfall yesterday I could NOT jump across one section any more. Has anyone else noticed this? Did something change in a recent update? Does my villager just need to go harder on leg day?!

So this happened to me with the last update! I had an area you had to jump to and it was only one space wide... after the update I had to make it 2 spaces wide.
