I was curious how many people resetted their towns because of TBT?
How did the forums influence your decision?
Would you have still resetted if you never joined the forums?

My map is still my first map ever but getting all the houses aligned was definitely TBT inspired.

I have never reset my town, therefore TBT did not influence me to reset my town.

Well. Kind of?

I didn't like my town to begin with. Hated the house placements, the map, and everything. I just didn't like how it was set up what-so-ever.

But then I found out on tbt that rectangle grass is a big no no. So I reset.

And now I have triangle grass. ;v; Star snow yaaay~

The only things that inspired to delete my town was looking at others dream towns. TBT didn't influence me to delete my town at all.

Yeah it definitely did. I got my game when it was released in the UK and I was just so excited I didn't really consider town layout/future PWP placement. I just wanted to play. So I just went with the first map.

I don't regret restarting though, because in the few weeks I played that town I learnt a lot about what not to do next time.

But yeah I had a look at the 'post your map' thread (I've been a lurking here for ages) and I saw the best map ever with the tree in the centre and a South facing waterfall. And I did not stop resetting till I got a map very similar.

Seriously yo I proper love my map now. It's great. So I'm grateful TBT.

A little bit yes. The shape of your grass affects snow? I didn't know that gonna check what my grass shape is once I get home now :c

Nope but to be honestly it almost because I wanted a nicer map. I already had accomplished so much in my town I asked myself would it be really worth it. After working on my town I learned to love it.

...I had heard it was circle grass that gives star snow. The wikis have it wrong apparently, I don't know why no one's bothered to change it. But from what I've read everyone who has circle grass says they also get star snow.

I have my first map from launch day too, although I map resetted for maybe 45 mins then to get a river shape I liked. Honestly, it doesn't bother me (in a nice way!!) what others think of my map layout and what villagers I have etc etc, I'm the one who has to 'live' there and I love it, and that's all that matters! I've worked 16 long months on my town and I'm proud of it, square grass and all ;-) I think any map can make a beautiful town tbh, for me there isn't a set list of things a town must have. It's always good to get feedback, encouragement and suggestions from other members though, and I've gotten plenty of good tips since joining, but I've never felt like I wanted to reset.

Before I came on here I was already thinking of restarting..I didn't like my map, hated pwp/house placements, rocks and ponds everywhere, etc. After I came on here it definitely influenced me to do it. Seeing other people leaving behind lots of stuff too made me feel better about it.

Yeah, when I first started playing ACNL, I sold my very first perfect fruit in my first ever save file. Then I found this website and I was so depressed by how easily everyone was making millions of Bells and how I was swimming in debt that I decided it'd just be easier to reset. I also reset other saves if my map didn't resemble the ones posted here because I thought the maps that were the most popular must have been good maps, but I don't do that anymore and I know how to tell a good map from a bad map.

Yes, it also encouraged me to become a perfectionist and want to design my town. Never before had I cared about maps or designing..

Yes, TBT has definitely influenced me to restart my towns countless times. Whether it be I realise someone has an amazing map and I feel like I didn't map reset enough to try get one as nice as that, or I just generally get bored of my town and fancy a fresh start anyway. TBT isn't the main reason I've restarted all my towns though as, like I said, some of them I just got bored of the town itself.

>implying I care what anyone thinks of my town

tbh I kinda hate a lot of the "popular" town layout decisions this site has

No, I've never reset my town, and I don't plan to. To be perfectly honest, I think most of the customary activities on Animal Crossing forums are kinda weird. I would never spend hours plot/villager resetting, cycling, or making paths on my own time... I just play the game, haha. New Leaf is the first game where I decided to aim for specific villagers: although I didn't make that decision because of this forum specifically; I heard about a dream address with all the deer, and at the time I had 3 deer, and I looked it up and found out there were exactly 10 deer... so I decided to go for it! Sometimes I question that decision, though, but I'll keep striving for it until I get all 10 deer. Then if I don't like it, I'll let them move out.

Well when my grass deteriorates, I have star grass blotches...

I'm pretty sure circles have hexagon shaped snow.

All grass gets star shaped blotches when it fades. I just tested with some time warping in my brother's town who has traingle grass. It doesn't become star. And this image seems to confirm that it's circle grass which gives you star snow.

Sorry. ;-; *hugs*
