So basically my island design was to have a river shaped like an arch and put diagonal bridges on the curves. But I just found out that not only are the distances very strict but paths don’t connect well into them.
Do you guys use diagonal bridges? And how do you work around their shortcomings?

I don't have any diagonal bridges, but if I did, I'd probably do a stepping stone sort of path. Either with a custom design or just the path maker.

I love how they look but I don't use any because I can't figure out how to make the paths look normal around them

I have one diagonal bridge, but I'm not sure what to do with it just yet. I'll figure something out.

I have the same problem regarding the way paths don't connect to them smoothly, and i'm thinking about demolishing my diagonal bridge because of that.

I have one and I just ran a single tile path on the diagonal up to it. It's only 4-5 tiles long, so it doesn't look too weird.

I didn't know it was possible. I tried the same with ramps and It was impossible to do...

I have a diagonal bridge but only made one out of necessity. It's hard to make paths around them look really nice too, which sucks.

for diagonal paths or paths that curve a lot i always use the two stone paths in a checkerboard pattern. I love how it looks and it doesnt look super out of place either, since i use the curved stone as a general path

I have a diagonal bridge and I used circles (4 squares rounded off) on the path maker as stones leading away from it

Yeah I have 2, one has stepping stones and one has a sort of heart shaped situation. But circles also work great!

I don't have any diagonal bridges but I have a diagonal alleyway I use stepping stones with. My residential area is the same too since it's pretty tight and won't fit straight paths in there

I made two and while I like them for ease of travel and overall island design, I absolutely regret making them because of the graphical issue with paths. I'll demolish them eventually.
