Contest Design my backyard! Reward: 200tbt

I just havent gotten around to taking photos and uploading mine. as mentioned on p.1, its my existing back yard room. Mostly the backyard set and some island items. its a bit cluttered but i may leave it that way for our purposes so that you can get ideas from it.

You've still got 4-ish days to upload it. And it doesn't really need to be 'complete'. Mostly I draw inspiration from the layout. I don't tend to copy rooms, as I'm a bit picky and like to tweak it to my liking.

I love making backyards! There is so much cool stuff to put in them. I always put mine in the basement, though, so no windows to mess up the outdoor walls.

I have 1 that needs a little tweaking before I enter it. Have a little too much junk cluttering it up right now. Was going for the urban gritty look, but maybe went a bit too far.

The other one is still a work in progress, so maybe I'll get some ideas here to finish it the way I want. I know what I want, a sort of secret garden type atmosphere, but haven't found the right combination of items to achieve the look.

Ooooh sounds promising. I hope to see both the entries before the contest runs out of time. Even if you do end up having unfinished rooms, enter them. Usually I don't copy the exact set-up, but I do copy the layout.

Thank you! And yeah, I understand. I really like my rooms to have a lot of stuff in them, but sometimes I go a little overboard. >_> It's hard to strike a nice balance, especially since there are so many nature themed furniture/wallpapaer/flooring.

my backyard is the classic semi-cluttered suburban backyard. it contains the entire Backyard theme, plus the froggy set, plus a smoker, several island items, flowers, a rice locust for outdoor sound ambience, and a firefly for nighttime. a relaxing barbecue/pool party with friends or family.

what i like re my backyard room is there are separate sitting areas to enjoy w/friends- one by the grill, smoker, and beach table. one by the jacuzzi, hammock and beach chair. the other is by the birdbath/picnic basket.

also- there is still some feng shui in the arrangement of everything

Ok I'm ready. I have to say, this was very difficult to judge. Partly because I didn't have any particular preference in mind but also because of all the awesome entries! I had to enlist the help of my sister in the end.

Winner is:
Mega_Cabbage! When I saw your entry I was immediately inspired by it. The room felt full without feeling cluttered, the flowers (I thought) were a wonderful touch. The sheep and the campfires cinched the deal. Congratulations! Expect a pm soon.

I love The Secret Garden book, so I was super excited to get that glenkatco's entry! And Defranco, your backyard definitely ticked most of the boxes. There was a bitter dispute between my sister and I about who would win which has lasted for about two-ish days.
