I love decorating my house, but I hate redecorating a room, because if I change my mind I can't just "undo." I like making my house functional versus visually appealing, so if you ever visit my island (or my dream) you can actually play all the instruments in my music room, sit in every chair in every room, and interact with every interactable object in general.

i actually really enjoy decorating my house! granted, it was a bit stressful at times if i couldn’t get any ideas flowing/i started comparing my rooms to other people’s but other than those instances, decorating my house is honestly one of the funnest parts of the game for me!

decorating my island, though? disgusting and i Hate it✨ LMAO

i actually really like interior decorating...juuuust not in this game. i spend a strong majority of my time decorating the actual island so i don't feel the need to put a lot of effort into the house interior yet tbh. i would like to, but i also don't really vibe with a lot of the items i've seen so far unfortunately

Decorating my house is actually one of my favorite parts of Animal Crossing. I've gotten slightly stressed trying to terraform and figure out where everything goes outside, but for some reason my house is always relaxing to decorate.

No, I actually love both decorating my house and the island. I have a mind for interior design and it’s fun to change things up every now and then outside.

I love decorating my house, moreso than my island! I'm glad to have Harv's island as a double (I consider it my cozy getaway cabin).

I don't hate decorating the house but, once I'm finished, I'm unlikely to re-decorate any of the rooms ever again. There's a reason why I never bought or played Happy Home Designer. 🥴

Yeah, I’m not a fan either, especially with the lack of distinct and interesting furniture. Some of my favourite series from previous games are still missing so I really struggle finding items I like.

No! Decorating houses is one of my favorite things in the game.

I don’t particularly hate it, but I’ve been holding off on that. It feels like a chore at the moment. Right now I’ve been focusing more on decorating my island than my house. So if you step inside my house , it’s a complete hoarder’s house. Eventually I’ll get to it.

I find that coming up with a theme helps make the decorating process more fun. One of my houses is a red theme (just as many red furniture items as possible) and the other is a sci-fi/stargate theme.

It can be pretty daunting though having an empty house!

OMG where did you get the little flag banner in the beach and rattan room over the bed?, if I give you TBT or the same amount of bells it costs I’ll buy any extras you have 😍💙🌊🐚⚓🔱

It's the Boating Stripes version of the party garland. I can order you one tomorrow.

It feels a little harder this time around to make interior design look good. Because there's less emphasis on all the different sets, and more on combining generic stuff together in different ways, it feels a bit more like interior design irl. There are also times I wish I had something else to decorate with, so I'm hoping we'll get some new stuff... at some point. I honestly feel like my NL houses were better put together than my NH house. I tried my best, but I honestly don't hang out in my house much.

I honestly pushed it off until I completed the reorderable furniture catalog. That way I can design rooms at Harvey's and see what clicks. Order what I need and have my home on the island decorated in just a few days.

I also use it as a way to see what items/colors fit together to decorate outside as well! That's how I came up with the look of my outdoor bar. Harvey's Island is definitely a huge help when you have no idea where to start.

Not hate, but i wasnt into doing it even in new leaf, my house there is such a mess of randomly placed furniture with only one room being actually designed, i dont even have all of the house expansions. The funny thing is i am more intersted in decorating my villagers houses than mine. I want to give it a try though.

I don't really like it as much in this game since a few of the room are pretty small even with all the expansions. I feel like I can't even put a complete furniture series in one of the smaller rooms without it looking super crowded.

I’m actually a little disappointed with how many NH players focus on exterior design, and then have empty houses. I love interior design and my island has two fully designed houses that I love. I mean, I am all for exterior design but I don’t get why the interior isn’t as popular in this game, from what I have seen anyway.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have two alternate characters whose houses serve as buildings in my city - one is a restaurant and the other a hotel. Because they both have a central theme its been much more fun for me to decorate them and look for specific furniture to buy for them. But whenever I try to start decorating my main character's house I get a little overwhelmed with the sheer amount of house-type furniture in the game so her house is still nearly completely empty. I think I just need to figure out themes / color schemes for each room to help narrow the furniture options and make things easier to plan.

I actually love decorating my house mainly because I love interior design in general. My island has two player houses - the main house which has a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom etc - and the cafe/restaurant which has a different theme for each room (50s diner, French cafe, the bakery from Kiki’s Delivery Service).

One of my favourite things to do when visiting dream towns is look at how other people decorate their house/s. I’ve taken so many screenshots for inspiration!
