I love the design of both. I love Kabuki for his face paint and his connection to traditional Japanese arts - also he is a cat.
But Roscoe is this really cool, handsome horse with a derpy face.
I have invited both amiibos to my camp to test them out. It's just so hard to decide. I am leaning slightly more toward Roscoe, because he's so sweet. And, I am feeling Kabuki a little less because he's small - I thought he's more imposing based on the pictures.
Kabuki also seems to be more popular than Roscoe, and I want my island to have a more diverse range of villagers.
i had roscoe on my island before i got apollo and i love horse villagers so much so it was really hard to let go of him but 2 crankys was too much aha
he also has such a groovy house

I had similar considerations between Kabuki and Static and ended up going for Static because I already have a cat and wanted species diversity. Roscoe is a cool cranky, he’s so cool you can almost forgive his crankiness. But yeah, I’m a theater history nerd so Kabuki is very appealing to me.
I voted for Kabuki because I'm biased and I really do like him more but you gotta do what's best for you! Roscoe honestly isn't bad either, he has a simple and nice design and if you want a variety of villagers you don't see in other towns often then definitely Roscoe!
I voted for Roscoe! I see the appeal of Kabuki but I've never been a fan of his design, though he could definitely look cool in a Japanese-themed area.
Roscoe is really cute, but so is Kabuki! I would be torn too if I was you, but I ultimately voted for Raymond because I really enjoyed designing his house in Happy Home Designer...lol
I’d personally go with kabuki because I had him in wild world and really want him back in my animal crossing game (I never got him in new leaf) but based on what you’ve said, I’d say go for roscoe - you seem like you enjoy talking to him more and prefer him overall
They’re both great villagers and you can’t really go wrong with either choice- and if you do decide that you’d rather have the other one after all, then you can still invite the other one in with amiibo!
I personally like Kabuki more and therefore voted for him, but now that I think about it - I think you should go for Roscoe. The way you talk about him it sounds like you like him more.
ROSCOE! Never had him before New Horizons but he quickly shot into my top 10 villagers of all time! I definitely plan on having him back to my island once I secure more villager pictures (he was the first one to give me his photo).
But in the end, you will have to have some personality dupes as there are only 8 personalities and 10 villagers max per island. So if you find that you want them both, you can!
