Could you imagine if villagers came in different color schemes...

It would be cool, but I can't imagine how someone would feel if you went to a mystery island just to find the wrong coloration of a villager you had been searching for. That shiny hunt would be crazy.

I personally wouldn’t be into this because of what Bioness said or the personality thing because to me a villager’s personality type is like, part of what makes the character who they are if that makes sense... I feel like a cranky Punchy and a lazy Static just wouldn’t be Punchy and Static anymore haha

But, it is extremely funny for me to think what if shiny Raymond actually looked awful?? For example Garchomp is a pretty popular pokemon and this is regular Garchomp vs shiny Garchomp:

See the difference? Yeah me neither! And regular vs shiny Dragonite, while the shiny clearly different, is just not well-liked at all:

So I’m just thinking can you imagine how much of a disaster it would be if shiny Raymond was just like a slightly darker gray or was a nasty shade of green? People would probably hunt for him anyway but it’d be so disappointing omg...

True, ahem now explain to me how the foxtrot they would make Audie's shiny.

Out of all the new villagers/islanders, I have to say that Peppy bear cub Judy has an interesting, gradient color scheme.

Perhaps I will get her some day.

Hmm, a lot of red/orange pokemon seem to turn yellow or even pink as shinies, I bet one of those would be cute for Audie! Lol I’d really hope it wouldn’t just be something like “the glasses on her head are a different color”.

Oh that is actually SO cursed and yet I can still see people paying 5,000 NMT for him just to have the bragging rights of shiny Raymond... also makes me realize just how important a villager’s color scheme is in making them look good, lol. I appreciate the effort you put into doing this!

Y'all talking about shiny raymond, but nobody asked about shiny Lemon Tangy.

Ankha - Gold and yellow and probably based off of Bastet, an Egyptian cat god.
Carrot - Hot pink, purple, black, or white colored carrot. Of course I'd be down to see a radish variation of her.
Chadder - Maybe Swiss cheese, because he's got spots on him, while Swiss cheese has holes.
Coco - Dark brown like dark chocolate, or a white tint like white chocolate.
Frita - This one would be kind of difficult to change. I'm not sure what is similar to a hamburger. The part that resembles fries could easily be sweet potato fries.
Ketchup - Green ketchup! But her having a mustard color would probably make more sense because of ketchup and mustard.
Lucky - Light brown/tan mummy wrap instead, with a light blue eye.
Merengue - Light brown skin with chocolate looking frosting, and the strawberry horn looking more like a white chocolate chip.
Pietro - White, grey, and black shades instead to resemble more of a mime instead of a clown.
Ribbot - Gold plated with blue eyes.
Sprocket - Brass plated with green eyes and rust colored beak.
Stitches - Not sure what colored patchwork.
Tangy - I definitely love your idea.
Zucker - I've always thought he was supposed to resemble a sweet food. I'd probably make his color scheme like a candy apple, though.

I did try very hard not to make it look good. It was surprisingly difficult! But yes, people would definitely still go for it, especially if it was a rare variant...

And don't worry it only took a few minutes :P

I'm so glad this isn't a thing. Regular villager hunting is already bad enough.

Why do Reneigh and Apple actually look kinda good? I think I need to go to sleep.

I did think of this.
I even thought of having Nintendo allowing us design some villagers to fit our own personal preferences down the line much how we design our characters.
But I also feel it would make the current villagers a bit less special.
