If you have any cool fish photos, or photos of any other aquatic creatures that you think are cool, please put them here! Fun fish-related stories are welcome too.

I went to an aquarium yesterday and have some nice shots to share.

The last photo is of 'mermaid purses', which are really skate embryos! Trippy stuff

I don't have a photo, but once I saw a beautiful fish that matched my shoes. It was brown with little gold flecks. Turns out it was a piranha. Go figure.

Whoa haha. Where'd you see it?? I've always wanted to look at one but so far the aquariums I've visited don't have any x_x

Couple of pictures I've taken whilst diving. First is an oceanic blacktip shark, second one is a pair of Red Sea bannerfish.

Holy crap, look at that shark! Did you freak out when you saw it? Really cool photos by the way.

If that shark was near me I'd freak ._.

Haha I know right. Definitely makes for a cool party story though...

Hey thanks! Glad you like it and I'm excited to see those photos. Where are you working and what's your area of specialty? Zoology has always fascinated me but I honest-to-god don't have the head for anything to do with biology hehe

@iLoveYou: That one's real pretty. Looks like a small fish angel or something. Siamese fighting fishes are cool-looking and relatively low-maintenance... I had one a long time ago who was super chill and kept me company during some lousy times. I really loved her.

@Squeaky: Haha, Oto cat is a really cute name. What other kinds of fish do you have in that tank?

I adore them so much. They really do look like fish angels. <33 I've been passing by the pet store on my way to work, and I'm sure sooner or later I'm going to get around to actually adopting one for 8.99$ . {:

I love the aquarium. I went to Chicago this summer with my brothers and a few other people.
We got to chose a must see destination and I chose the Shedd Aquarium♡

We were diving with around 20 of them every day, it was just awesome more than anything else. They were more interested in the bait we'd used to attract them to be honest. Also knowing that they're a species that rarely, if ever, attack humans.

I like this thread. I'm doing a marine biology degree, got about 4 months left of it though.

This thread is like a second home to me! My parents own two aquatic pet stores, so it's comforting to see that I can relate with some people on this forums for once! I should take some pictures of our fish! We have over 1,000 unique breeds and around 300 different fish tanks ranging from marine, fresh water and tropical! :D

Fish are so cool and so pretty! I took loads of snaps when I went snorkelling a while ago but I'd have to scan in all the photos and... I'm too lazy. I managed to get a picture of a sting ray I think looking right at me, I was pretty impressed with that considering my underwater photography skills aren't... Very good. x3

I have a few crappy photos I took on my iPod though that I have on my computer when I went to a museum in year 8... Which I could share...

-will definitely keep my eyes peeled on this thread for more interesting photos- :3

It's a four-eyed fish, despite only having two eyes. The name comes from the fact that each eye is split into two, with differing thickness of lens in each section. It allows it to see both in and out of water at the same time, hence why it's on the surface. Yay, evolution!

You ever heard of the whirligig beetle (Gyrinidae)? Its basically the insect equivalent.
