I mean, since the prizes are for best overall (and not best from each category), why not get rid of the categories all together? Make it a sort of free-for-all
I'm not sure how else to deal with the mega-unbalanced categories.

That might be a good option if all else fails. It does leave easier 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place slots to fill.
It's harder to judge though when there is no catagory.
IF you want to remove the catagories maybe its better to do a few rounds of 10 towns at a time (or something like that) otherwise people will get overwelmed with too many entries.
I like the catagories though...so IMO you could move the date so people have time to prepare. A lot of entries are "forced" to go to a misc catagory because they don't have the right pwp or enough time to prepare. So maybe more time is the solution.

I'm sticking with the Categories for now. I doubt I'll change it but you never know. I could do a couple of visits and PM people to see if they want to category-switch. And yeah, while this Friday seemed OK, I might extend it another week or so.

Sadly we have no room for misc. I'll visit your town though and see what possibilties I could categorize with. Just PM me if you want to change! Very sorry, it's just the misc category is really over-exceeding all other categories.
