Chore expiration?

I'm in the middle of a chore, but I have to go to someone I want to avoid for 10 days and see if she moves out or not.

When does a chore expire, when you're in the middle of it? Also, if you don't complete that chore, does it prevent that villager from moving?

A chore lasts until the day ends, then the "To _____" becomes "present". As far as my knowledge goes, it does not prevent a villager from moving out if you don't deliver a chore item to them.

You can ignore a villager request. The only villager that will be affected by it (lowering your friendship points) is the one who requested your help. Also, a chore expires at 6am the next day.
