For those who started over this year, is anyone else hunting those diys? I remember back in 2020 it felt like almost every balloon I popped was dropping a recipe card for me. This year, I've been popping balloons quite often and have only managed to get 1 so far on day 3. How is your luck going this time?

i don't remember the rates in 2020 but the balloon rate for seasonal diys if you haven't learned all of them yet should be 15%. if you have learned all the cherry blossom diys, they won't show up in balloons.
I just looked and realize I only have 7 of the 15 listed in the travel guide. I haven’t really been popping a lot of balloons because my storage is full and my island is a mess. I guess I need to unload some stuff so I feel motivated to try for those DIY’s. I think it is hard since the event only lasts a week and it’s even a bit of a grind to get the cherry blossoms. I have a fair number but I’ve already crafted the DIY’s I do have.
I have been busy or taking a break so trying to catch up on the days I have already missed. I forgot it was already cherry blossom season. So I haven’t even started trying to get the DIYs for my newest island. I will hopefully start trying for them soon.
Well I just discovered if I stand on my beach side where the balloons are originating I can just pop them as they arrive from the ocean. I mean I am standing still, slingshot in hand and just waiting while I peruse TBT forum, play on my steam deck, etc. When a balloon arrives, I pop it and go back to my other things, Lol! In the last 60 minutes I’ve gotten 3 of the 8 I’m missing. Haha, who knew!
