Changing our villager furniture

Hi all!

Just a quick question regarding furniture in villager houses. What's the easiest way to get a specific piece of furniture out of a villager's house? I've heard that sending replacement pieces of furniture the same size is one way, but I haven't tried yet. Usually I just wait till they invite me over, except this particular thing is a dresser with two items on top of it, so he won't part with it.
I'm really hoping there's a way!

If you want a certain item that's on top of something, you have to give them another object of the same size.
If you want the dresser, give them another one of the same size or another object of the same size if they have another dresser/closet somewhere.

If you wish to gift the furniture, you can only do it once. Gift once through mail or else they wont put the other furniture you gave to them on the same day. One gift at a time.

There are some furniture you can't get from them yet. But I feel that being really good friends with them would convince them otherwise.

I usually just gift them furniture pieces that are relatively the same size through letters. It helps boost your friendship too by just writing them and they'll give in eventually.

It would be cool if they would someday give their prized possession to you someday if you're really good friends with them.
Or maybe they would give it to you in your birthday.

Usually it's gone. I mean you could remain hopeful and check Retail, but this isn't like the original AC where they had a dumpsite.

Actually- I do remember gifting Nana something. She placed it in her house and after a few gifts, it's gone. But then the same item came back up when she tried selling it to me.

Maybe the villagers have their own limited storage. They just don't bother throwing the items away.

I usually try my hardest to keep their houses as untouched as possible. The original houses all look adorable and fitting to each character, so I just feel very bad whenever a new furniture piece pops up in their place and ruins the decoration. But I guess that the most efficient ways of changing their furniture is by making them buy stuff at Re-Tail or just mailing the stuff to them.
