Catching bugs for villagers question

they will display the fish/insect if you decide to sell it to them upon them asking. they will also display it if you gift them one but not when you're doing a request for them

Wait, does this mean that when they ask me if I can catch a specific bug or fish for them, they *won't* display it? I've been saying no to them since I thought they would D: now I feel bad..they will display the fish/insect if you decide to sell it to them upon them asking. they will also display it if you gift them one but not when you're doing a request for them
yeah! i always do requests for my villagers when they ask for a certain fish/bug and they never display it after i fulfill the request. that's how i found out you can safely do them without worrying about ruining their home decors!

They've displayed it when I've gotten them. Pashmina had 3 Warf Roachs in her home. I hated it.

yea.... i'm so confused. This happen to me too. My villager displays the dab fish.
no this is when they suddenly ping you and ask you if you can catch a specific bug or fish for them
not when they ask you to sell something in your inventory. if you sell it to them, they might end up displaying it in their homes

lol there's mixed answers here but you can have my word on when you fulfill pinged requests from them, they won't display anything you bring back to them in their homes. i've been doing this since launch and i haven't had a problem with ruined interiors.

thanks for confirming! lol it was starting to look like i was losing my mind or something bc the responses were mixed. they wont display if it was a pinged request. like them running up to you and asking you to catch them something. again, this is different than if they ask you to sell the bug/fish to them.
i never have to refuse to catch a carp for kyle again this is truly a miracle. i always feel so bad saying no, especially cuz they never asking me to run errands in this game lol.
lmao sorry to spam you so much thread op if you have notifs on. just wanna make sure everyone feels assured. even earlier i caught a carp for teddy and his house is perfectly safe. been doing this for a while and i only refuse to sell + gift them fish/bugs to protect their interiors!
It was during the first month of the game, but I think I recall one of my villagers displaying a squid after they requested it. I actually had one in my storage, so I just went and got it from there instead of catching a new one. The villager was in a starter house, not sure if that factors in since those houses seem to have more open spaces for displayable objects.

They do display them though, but I'm not sure about when they ask you for a specific type of fish/insect. Roscoe asked me for a river fish once, and I gave him a dorado (yes I spoil my villagers lol) and now he proudly displays it in his house.

I’m pretty sure the sea bass in melbas house is one she asked me to catch for her... but I could be remembering wrong. But I don’t remember any other villagers displaying fish or bugs they asked me to catch
They do display it.
I had Coach (gone now) with a room full of sea bass and locusts.

Punchy asked me for a Drone Beetle today, so I'll see if he displays it tomorrow. I remember Apollo asking for a fish once (I forget if he specifically asked for a clown fish or just an ocean fish), but his interior is fish free. Only thing marring it is a silly red record box I thought would look perfect next to his stereo that he placed next to the lamp instead.
